DRAKE FAMILY
They moved to to Turtle Creek Twp., Warren Co., OH in 1813. In 1824 William bought land from the U.S. Government in Hanover Twp., Shelby Co., IN where he built a log cabin.
William died 7 Dec 1842 and is buried in Pelham Cemetery, near Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN. Phebe died 3 Jan 1860 and is buried in the same cemetery.
(1) Abraham P. DRAKE born 1790-4. He married 21 May 1813 Warren Co., OH to Alicy KING. They had two daughters whose names are not known. Abraham married next 4 Jul 1824 in Shelby Co., IN to Elizabeth ROANE. Abraham is found in the 1820 census of Warren Co., OH and the 1830 census of Shelby Co., IN. There is no record of Abraham after 1830.
(2) Joshua R. DRAKE was born 1795-1800. He married 20 Mar 1816 Warren Co., OH to Mary PEPPER. In 1840 they resided in Shelby Co., IN and had five daughters and one son. No record has been found of this family after 1840.
(3) Tamma "Tammie" DRAKE was born 26 Nov 1795 in New York and died 18 Apr 1863 in Shelby Co., IN. She is buried in Pelham Cemetery, near Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN. She married 14 Jan 1817 in Warren Co., OH to John TRIMBLE (1794-1873), the son of Joseph Trimble and Elizabeth Tibbs.
(4) Mary "Polly" DRAKE was born 16 Dec 1800 and died 8 Aug 1858 in Shelby Co., OH. She married first 22 Dec 1817 in Warren Co., OH to Levi BLACKFORD (d. 1828). They were the parents of Lucretia, Eveline and Susannah Blackford. Mary married second to Simeon BLACKFORD who died in 1847. They were the parents of Ezra, John, Jane, Adah, Elizabeth, Nancy, Mary and Simeon Blackford.
(5) Clarissa "Clara" DRAKE was born 1804/5 and married 5 Aug 1824 in Warren Co., OH to Joseph DUNGAN. They resided in Shelby Co., IN through at least 1850. They were the parents of Elisha, Phebe, Evans, Joseph, and Huldy Dungan.
(6) Elias C. DRAKE was born 25 Jul 1809 Warren Co., OH. He married first 20 Mar 1831 Shelby Co., IN to Harriet SMITH (1811-1872), the daughter of Firman and Mary Smith. Their children were William, John Mark, Lydia, Sarah, Clarissa, Martha, Diantha, and Elias Drake.
(7) Diantha DRAKE was born circa 1813 probably in Warren Co., OH. She died 9 Apr 1841 at age 28 years and is buried in Pelham Cemetery, near Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IN. She married 13 Feb 1834 Shelby Co., IN to Willard LOW (1814-1870).
