First Generation

James W. BIGGER was born 1770-80. In 1827 he bought land in Wayne Co., MO from J. Pitman. He then moved by 1830 to Lawrence Co., AR. In 1835 he moved to Shelby Co., TX with five children and nine slaves. He subsequently died intestate the following year in Shelby Co. His estate was settled in 1840 by his son Ambrose C. BIGGER, administrator. James married twice. The name of his first wife is unknown. He married(2) by 1817 to Mary "Polly" SWEAZEA possibly in Wayne Co., MO.

Second Generation

The children of James BIGGER and his first wife were:

(1) James Norris BIGGER (1817-1872) Died 1872 Randolph Co., AR. He married in Missouri to Lucretia PARRISH (1812-1840.)
(2) Ambrose C. BIGGER
(1818-1848) m. 1830 to Mary Ann McDONALD (1822).
(3) Matilda BIGGER (1802/4-1855) m(1) Richard SWEAZEA m (2) Randolph COOK.
(4) Lucinda BIGGER (1804) m. Arnold MANN of Wayne Co., MO.

(6) Sarah Isabel BIGGER (1818-1862) m. Henry WADDLE.
