Chocolate Brownie Pie

Ingredients:

1 9" unbaked pastry shell
2 Tbs. butter or margarine
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup broken pecans

Directions:

Prepare pastry shell; chill. Melt butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Pour into a medium-size bowl; cool slightly. Add eggs, sugar and corn syrup. Beat with rotary beater until well- blended. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Pour mixture into unbaked shell. Bake on lower shelf of 375F oven for 40 minutes. Cool thoroughly on wire rack before slicing. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if you wish.
