Kaoru "Blazing Rage" Asaka

Height: 5’9
Weight: 145lbs/65.7kg
Born: October 10th, 1988 (Sports & Health Day!)
From: Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan
Theme: “Despair” by Piko
Tag Theme: "BLAZE" by Hatsune Miku (as performed by Andi Takata and the Burning Star Band)
Fighting style: Stiff Technical Joshi
Personality: Defacto face by association. Usually a nice person. Usually. Until she's not.

Bio: Kaoru Asaka comes from a long line of wrestlers in her family, dating back almost 80 years to her great-grandfather, Master Asaka, before pro-wrestling was even popular in Japan. At 22, she is the youngest wrestler currently active professionally in her family. She, and her sister, Sakura Asaka, formerly known to joshi fans as ‘Cherry Bomb’, now ‘Black Cherry’ are the only females however. The two sisters have a long standing rivalry, as one might expect. She came to SPW a few years ago for as of yet to us unknown reasons, and languished near the bottom of the women’s division for some time, despite her talent in the ring. After leaving the company with partner Andi Takata, and manager Angel Martinez, however, her success has come quickly. After signing with Atlantic City Entertainment, she & Andi Takata rose to the top of the Tag Team division and within 3 months had acquired championship gold, a reign that would last just short of one year. She has joined CWF with her partner, with eyes on championship success in both singles and tag.

Strengths:
Experience – Kaoru Asaka is not new to wrestling. Being one of the few 4th generation wrestlers, you could say it’s in her blood, as her family knows nothing but professional wrestling. Even being the least professionally experienced in her family at 24, she’s still been pro since 17, and has trained since she could walk, basically. She fancies herself quite the ring general, and she shows it every time she goes out there.

Success breeds Success – After starting her career with quite a few losses, since acquiring the services of Angel Martinez, her career has not only gotten on track, but it has thrived. She has rededicated herself to results and they've shown. Kaoru seems to only want to get better still as she ascends the ranks, leaving everything in the gym and in the ring.

Weaknesses:
Too confident? – With the newfound success has come newfound confidence, and she may get a little too comfortable in a match when she shouldn’t, and end up getting reversed, or worse, pinned/locked in a submission. Sure, she can probably get out of the situation, but every now and then, it’s one that she shouldn’t be in. She may also try to overcompensate for her partner’s lack of experience and stay in the ring too long in a tag match.

Hothead - Kaoru used to be call Burning Calm, for obvious reasons. She's changed her name since, to go along with her attitude. Blazing Rage is not just a moniker, it's what she's become. Tired of being disrespected and overlooked, she has become very short-tempered and is prone to go over the top at times when she shouldn't, getting her in trouble in the ring and out.

Titles/Accolades:
1x Japan All-Womens World Tag Team Champion
1x Atlantic City Entertainment Tag Team Champion
#3 Tag Team in 2010 OSeW Awards, as part of the Burning Star Express
#70 in 2010 OSeW Awards
1x CWF Tag Team Champion

Other crap:
-The rivalry she has with her sister seems deep, and there seems to be some genuine hatred, but neither has said what it’s over.

-She came up with the name Burning Star Express. Don’t let Angel tell you different.

-Though her relationship with Andi is pretty awkward at times, since Andi’s more nuts than a can of cashews, she seems to have accepted a ‘big sister’ role to the younger Takata. She seems to have worked through the anxiety of dealing with her partner being young, inexperienced and naïve. However, there is a bit of a rivalry, seeing as Takata has now bested her three times in the ring.

-While Kaoru may not be as musically gifted as her partner, she is quite skilled with a guitar, and she can be heard playing on Andi Takata's 'Light/Dark' Double CD as part of the 'Burning Star Band'.

Moves:

1. Suplex, suplex, suplex. You name the suplex, Asaka will throw you with it. And not only will she throw you, she'll hold on and bridge a pin, because that's what you're supposed to do. She's a large fan of suplex of the German, Dragon, and Half-and-Half variety. She may also bust out the fancy ones like Japanese Ocean when doing the Stardust Device with her partner. Can probably deadlift suplex most of the roster if she feels like showing off or her opponent gets 'uncooperative'.

2. Stereotypically asian Good kicks, maybe not the stiffest, but still effective. She's used to throwing corner yakuza kicks with her partner (see tag app) , and her Big Fat Kick is known to level the playing field in more ways than one.

3. Muay Thai Clinch and Kneelifts. A crowd count-along/ooh-along/boo-along can accompany this.

4. Spear, because it works to her strengths of getting an opponent down on the mat where she can really do some damage.

5. Ground game: This is where the wrestling comes in. Kaoru knows how to wrestle amateur style quite well, as she started really, really young, and considering she's usually in the upper scale of size, she can use this to great advantage. She knows where to move to get out of trouble, and she knows where to move to put her opponent where she wants them, whether that be to unleash ground-and-pound hell with fists, elbows, and if needed the occasional headbutt, or to put on any number of submissions, though with her opponent on the mat, she'd most likely be looking to sink in a Guilliotine Choke, Kimura, Armbar, Ankle Lock, or something suitably painful she can apply to whatever region she happens to be working on. Also good when she's on her back, where she'll look for things like Triangle chokes and the like.

6. Grappling: See ground game, kinda. More of the standing variety, though. Hammerlocks, keylocks, headlocks, nelsons, arm wringers, tests of strength, sleepers, etc etc. If she can grab you, she probably will, and you probably won't like it. Good for wearing down opponents. Also good for setting up those suplexes she likes so much.

7. Running knee.
8. Shoulderblock/flying shoulderblock
9. HEADBUTT.
10. Chops. Stiff, loud chops. Kobayashi-style. And like Kobayashi, she'll throw them until she's chopped through whatever's there.
11. Stomps. Head, ribs, and if she gets the chance, your fingers. If you're bigger and she's looking to lock on some leg subs later, she'll probably stomp those too. But mostly she's trying to KO you, knock the wind out of you, or trying to murder your hand with her boot.
12. Snap DDT
13. Neckbreaker (and variants)
14. Backbreaker (and variants)
15. Asakasault - If she does decide to take off from the top rope (or apron), this is the go to move. Simple, clean moonsault. Also a part of one of the double team moves with Andi Takata.
16. Tope Suicida - Aka the good ol' Suicide Dive through the ropes. Because sometimes, you gotta.
17. Atomic Drop
18. Backdrop (because sometimes a suplex is too much work)
19. Drop toe hold (More of that get'm down on the mat)

Weapons/Signature/Finishers:

Weapons: A simple chair is all she needs. Versatlie enough to go from swinging at someone's head to wrapping around their arm before stomping, to drop toe holding someone into it. There are rumors that Angel Martinez has taught her how to fireball, but she's never done it anywhere we've seen. Who knows?

Big Fat Kick (signature) - A very measured, very accurate kick to the head, thrown with knockout power. All the more impressive is how such a kick can seem to come from nowhere at times.

Asaka Death Grip (submission, can lead to pin, can lead to KO/Sleep) – Taught to Kaoru Asaka by the great Master Asaka himself before his passing. From what Kaoru was told, he learned the nerve hold on one of his journeys through the Pacific Islands (like, say, Tonga.) Only certain people on in the Asaka family have been taught the move from Master Asaka, Kaoru is the only one of her generation to have the move passed on (which pisses off her sister, Sakura, to no end.)

Moment Of Zen (main finish) – Inverted Facelock Brainbuster. Asaka applies an inverted facelock on the victim from behind, hooks the victim's tights, and lifts them straight up in the air so the victim is upside down. Asaka will then drop the opponent on the top of their head, with a slight twist on the way down. She may delay the drop if the bitch really has it coming, making her opponent experience that ‘Moment Of Zen’.

Asakalock (submission, can lead to sleep, can lead to MDK Overkill Finisher suplex, which for now will be called the 'Asakalockalypse'.) - Crossface Half-Nelson Sleeper. You would know it better as the Million Dollar Dream. The 'Asakalockalypse' suplex, is for the most part, either a last-ditch effort to put down a tough opponent, or the product of hating an opponent enough to pull it out. And yes, Kaoru is well aware of how stupid a name that is for her move.

Entrance:

[CUE J-ROCK! The lights come down as spotlight bounce around the arena along with the guitar.]

[And cue a very metal yell as Kaoru Asaka comes bursting out from backstage, fists raised high in the air. She starts heading for the ring as the words kicks in.]

TAG TEAM INFO

Team Name: The “Burning Star Express” (BSX for short)

Team Members: “Lucky Star” Andi Takata & Kaoru “Blazing Rage" Asaka
Team Since: August 2010
Manager/Trainer: Angel Martinez, though he does not accompany them to the ring, save for certain occasions.
Combined Weight: 270lbs/123kg
Theme Song: “BLAZE” by Hatsune Miku (as performed by Andi Takata and the Burning Star Band)

Team Bio: Formed out of an uneasy affiliation in SPW, through the aspirations of Angel Martinez to get both his protégé (Takata), and an underused talent (Asaka) some exposure, and then slowly forged through early hardships, this team has slowly coming together to be one of the better women's tag teams in the world. Under the tutelage of Angel Martinez and his ‘significant other' Xian Pu, the girls are getting well trained in the arts of the ring as a tag team, achieving much success early in their tenure together, having been champions in such companies as JAW and ACE. They look to continue their dominance as a tag team together in the CWF.

Team Balance: Kaoru is clearly the stronger and more technically sound member of the team, but she's been doing it longer than Andi has. Andi's the fun one, she will take more crazy risks than her partner, tease opponents, and work the fans up. Angel has taken more of a backseat role as a manager, letting them do what they do and not directing traffic, and instead focusing more on his role away from the ring as a trainer & mentor for them.

Big Double Team Moves:

Solar Flare - Kaoru holds the opponent in a bear hug for Andi, who springboards into a Blockbuster, with the opponent getting faceplanted in the middle of the ring.

Interstellar Death Array - A seemingly non-stop series of the girls taking turns doing Running Corner Yakuza Kicks to an opponent, whether standing or downed.

Stardust Device (finish) - The opponent is lifted up into a delayed Japanese Ocean Suplex by either Kaoru or Andi, before dropping, the other partner comes off the top rope with a Missile Dropkick that the opponent cannot defend against due to their arms being tied up. Immediate cover with the bridged suplex.

Space Jam (finish) – On a downed opponent in the ring, both girls attack from the top turnbuckle. Kaoru Asaka will leap into a moonsault, and Andi Takata will do her AWESOME Shooting Star Press. Both girls then hang around for the pin.

Entrance:

[CUE J-ROCK!]

[The song builds quickly and within a few bars, into the flashing bright light blue lights of the Boardwalk Hall spring The Burning Star Express, Andi Takat hopping about waving for the crowd to cheer!]

Steve Horton: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, INTRODUCING AT THIS TIME, AT A COMBINED WEIGHT OF 270 POUNDS...

Steve Horton: AND HER TAG TEAM PARTNER... HAILING FROM THE GREAT COSMOS BY WAY OF AKIHABARA, TOKYO, JAPAN AND NEWARK, NEW JERSEY...

[Asaka tries to get past Andi to get to the ring, as she's hopping around and excited to be here!]

Steve Horton: SHE IS THE MAGICAL GIRL FROM OUTER SPACE...

[Andi positions herself! Step out, arm up.]

Steve Horton: THE "LUCKY STAR" ANDIIIIIIIII TAAAAKATAAAAA!!!!!!

[POSE! Crowd loves it! Then both girls slide in under the bottom rope, and make their way to opposite turnbuckles., as the song drops into the guitar solo!]

[One last huge pop for this young tag team, before they climb down from the turnbuckles and get ready for their match as the music fades down before the next verse.]
