"Lucky Star" Andi Takata

Height: 5 foot 5
Weight: 125lbs/56.5kg
Born: July 7th, 1991 (the Japanese celebrate the ‘Star Festival’ on this day every year, oddly enough)
From: Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan
Billed From: The Great Cosmos
Normal Theme: "Caramelldansen (Speedycake Guitar Mix)" - Caramel
Tag Theme: "BLAZE" - Hatsune Miku (as performed by Andi Takata and the Burning Star Band)
Fighting Style: Joshi high flyer flying by the seat of her pants, striker (stiff kicks!), and getting better at everything else.
Personality: Sweet and lovable and probably slightly insane. All the way face. You know you’re all the way face when you talk about doling out justice in the name of the universe.

Biography:
Andi Takata, before coming to the US to pursue an opportunity given to her through Angel 'Syko' Martinez, had tried her best at becoming a pop idol in Japan. But despite how much she tried, there was always another girl out there who would be able to sing better, or look just a little better in the photo shoots, or get those commercial opportunities to make a living. Having exhausted almost every avenue he had, Andi's agent/father, Shunichiro Takata, a former wrestler himself back in his day, had called in a favor to his old friend Angel Martinez to help find a way to get Andi into the spotlight for herself, through something that she had been a fan of anyway. Her training started that day, and almost a year later, Andi made her debut in SPW, before backstage dealings went awry. In ACE, she continued tagging up with Kaoru 'Blazing Rage' Asaka with great success, with their Tag Team Championship reign ending just days short of the one-year mark, having had great matches with every team in the company, and some mild singles success. She looks to continue her success in CWF both with and without Asaka.

Appearance:

Hair: Bright blue/aqua/whatever shade it is, though she may change it for seasonal & holiday shows. Medium length, put up into pigtails. The rest of it covers the side and back of her mask.

Mask: Speaking of which, she has one. It’s colorful and it’s got a star on it. It covers from the forehead to the tip of her nose, with a big ol' star right in the middle. See the pic for a better idea.

Ring Attire: Andi’s outfit is a modern take on the Japanese school uniform, modified slightly so it’s useful at wrestling gear, and modified further so it looks fashionable. The sleeves are detachable, the top is gray with a tie that matches her hair, and a black skirt, which has again been modified, but with some graphics.

Body art: Andi has an '01' printed in red on her left arm. Some say it's because she was the first student of Angel Martinez, some say that it denotes a love of Neon Genesis Evangelion. She denies both, and refuses to say just what it is, claiming it 'her little secret'.

Other Crap You Should Know:

-Andi tends to yell and grunt during her matches, almost like a tennis player would, especially on her harder strikes and maneuvers that lake a lot of effort. She also tends to telegraph some of her bigger moves by yelling out the name she's given to them.

-Andi is very physically fit. While she may not have hit the books as much as she should have in school, she did excel in athletics. She was not only co-captain on her school’s track team, but was all-district in Akihabara. She was also an adept gymnast, and participated in the cheerleading squad as well. She also studied kendo in her younger years.

-Andi’s mother and father were both celebrities in Japan. Her father, former wrestler Shunichiro Takata, and mother, former pop-idol singer, Hidaka, have very much encouraged Andi’s foray into entertainment media from a young age. Her mother has come out against her being a pro-wrestler, to the point that their relationship is not what one would call 'friendly'.

-Andi, being the ‘magical girl’ that she is, has a very strong sense of justice. This is of course brought about through ‘Love, Courage, and Violence’( Ai, yu-ki, soshite bo-ryoku!). Very heartwarming!

-Andi’s English has come a long way, mainly from practice and use, since there are times she simply won't shut up. Long words and complicated names will still trip her up though and lead to interesting pronunciations. She may also use japanese on camera, but these days, it tends to be more a product of her being angry enough to revert to what she's spoken forever, or to deliver her catch phrase.

-Andi's personality has endeared her to many fans, most especially the 'otaku' crowd, who appreciate her love of anime, manga, and video games.

-Andi is also a very accomplished singer & musician, classically trained. She still clings to her J-Pop roots, with a bit of a J-Rock touch, and still performs at times. Her double CD 'Light/Dark' appeals to her niche market, though sales are a bit slow as the 2CD set was released in the US, despite almost all of the album being in her native Japanese.

Strengths:
1. FIGHTING SPIRIT - Say what you will about Andi's lack of refined technique in the ring, her strength, her singing, or whatever else, but Andi does not know to stay down. She will fight until she cannot fight any longer, knowing she has to try that much harder to win, because she's really not that good yet. Making her tap will be quite the feat.

2. The 'Snap' aka 'Slowly I Turn...' - What happens when you mercilessly beat on a girl in the ring for too long? SHE LOSES HER MIND. And retard strength is a dangerous thing. She may not pull the shoulder straps down on her outfit (sorry, fanboys), but when her demeanor clearly changes mid-match, she's about to hit the warpath.

3. The drive! - Andi's not doing this for her health. She's here to win, and to make herself the megastar loved by everyone that she could never be in Japan. The fans will compel her to keep giving every last effort. And if they don’t she will compel them to compel her, or die trying.

4. FUN! - Andi is a very fun-loving girl, and that carries over into the ring. Moves like her Caramelldansen/Nels'n/Plexin' and cutely mocking her evil opponents with silly faces are great examples of ways she expresses this, and at times, this is a great tactic to frustrate an opponent.

Weaknesses:
1. The downside to fighting spirit - All that extra effort usually results in more wear over time, and injuries that could've been avoided. She may need to be helped to the back after losses from leaving too much of herself in the ring.

2. The downside to 'The Snap' - Blind aggression, while effective, is also a good way to get yourself killed. Smart wrestlers would do well to use the anger against Andi, and let her work herself out of gas. Although, with Andi’s youth and energy, this may take some time.

3. The Fans are stupid - .... and Andi listens to them WAY too much, because she cares what they think (silly tecnico.). This will lead her to either try moves she has no business trying and botching them, or staying around in a match she can't win and getting injured because they start a 'Please Don't Tap' chant.

4. Fun time is OVER - As much fun as she has, she can also try to take certain liberties with more skilled and experienced opponents, and can actually put herself in position to really get smashed good while trying to entertain.

Moveset: Standard tecnico stuff, a variety of somewhat stiff kicks, elbows, forearms and palmstrikes. Her aerial arsenal seems to be ever expanding and simply awesome at times, though her bread & butter is the Shooting Star Press (see below). Her suplexes have gotten better, and while she doesn't pull them out too often, she is quite capable of executing them, favoring the joshi-styled Dragon, Tiger, and Ocean Suplexes. She's also been taught to use more crevattes than basic headlocks, unless the opponent has a substantial size advantage, because when you control the head, you control the body. Most of her attack is focused on the head, neck, shoulders and arms to set up the "Takata Special '91". A dropkick to the knee of a taller opponent or dragon screw legwhip isn't out of the question though. Some others may include:

Step on the Face/Pivoting Face Stomp, Spinning heel kick, HARD HARD HARD KICKS, Palm Thrust, Double Palm Thrust. All Dropkick variations, All DDT variations, Japanese Armdrag, Monkeyflip, Dragon Screw Leg-Whip, Superkick (aka SUUPAKICKU~!), Yakuza Kick (into the corner is fun), Running knee/kick to downed in the corner, Guillotine or Springboard Legdrop, Tope Con Hilo/Tope Suicida, Prawn Hold, Sunset Flip, La Magistral, Rollup Bridge, Flying Schoolgirl, Fujiwara Armbar, Spinning Toehold, Sharpshooter (Every Face Should Know This), Octopus Stretch, Butt-Butt (aka the Flying Andi), Roaring/Rolling Thrust Palm Strike.

Signature Maneuvers: (fav weapons, bumps if necessary)
Weapons: Andi does not like to use weapons under normal circumstances. She abhors cheating, and will go out of her way at times to 'keep it clean'. However, when allowed the opportunity, she prefers a solid kendo stick/singapore cane, and is very capable of using one thanks to her training as a youth.

THE Shooting Star Press. - Standing, running, off a rope, to the floor, off a guardrail.... if Andi has room to leap, she can backflip herself onto an opponent and you will not see a better one anywhere in the business.

Shining Star - Shining Wizard, duh. Telegraphed by screaming out the name of the move, usually.

Supernova Special (Submission)- Kneeling step–over head–hold armbar followed by hooking the opponent's far leg. Done on a downed opponent.

Caramellnelson/Caramellplexin' - Andi's newest craze/weapon is a dance for a shitty swedish pop remix. If she manages to get behind a standing opponent, she will apply a full nelson, provided there's not too much of a size disadvantage. From there, she will then proceed to force her opponent to sway left and right in the 'Caramellnelson' with their arms up like they're doing the dance. If the opponent can't escape somehow, Andi follows it up with the Caramellplexin, a Dragon Suplex.

Finishing Maneuvers: (setup maneuvers if necessary, and murderdeathkill finishers)

Low Orbiting Varial Explosion (L.O.V.E.) - Andi leaps off a high point from a standing start with a bit of a wind-up, spinning herself sideways into a very effective body-splash. From the top rope to a downed opponent in the ring, she can get about 3 full revolutions (1080 degrees), give or take a few degrees. The move can be done to a standing opponent, though it is far more effective against one that's been grounded. .Kaoru has made fun of the name of the move, going so far as to call it the Humanoid Annihilating Twisting Explosion or H.A.T.E. .. Andi does not approve of such a name.

Takata Special '91 (combo, submission, main singles finisher)- Her father's finishing move when he used to wrestle. Named in honor of his daughter, so it's only fitting she uses it. While somewhat tame by today's standards, it is quite effective. It is a DDT, held onto, and Andi moves into position to put the opponent into a Crossface. SHE WILL COMPLETELY TELEGRAPH THIS by yelling 'TAKATA SPECIAL '91!’ before the attempt. The kicker is the insane amount of torque she manages to get on the crossface.

Takata Driver Alpha (Ultra Mega Special MDK) – As with all of Andi’s other finishers, when she goes for this Butterfly Piledriver (double underhook piledriver doesn’t sound girly enough), she will yell out the name of the move. Andi didn’t learn this move from her formal training, she learned it from watching Tiger Mask do it when she was 7, as this is a Tiger Driver ’98. HOWEVER, ANDI DOES NOT USE THIS MOVE UNLESS IN A ‘RAGE’ STATE. AND SHE MIGHT DO IT MORE THAN ONCE IN A ROW. Complete primal instinct at it’s best, and that’s why this is the MDK. She’ll feel bad after the match if she used it as well.

Entrance:

[Cue Swede-Pop mixed with guitars, as a version of Caramelldansen comes over the speakers and the crowd is bathed in a sea of blue lights and oontz!]

[When the main beat kicks in, out comes the ever-so energitc Takata, and after hopping around for a moment, goes right into the Caramelldanse herself on the stage]

##Vi undrar är ni redo att vara med

##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...
##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...
##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...

[…before taking off to take care of everyone on the side she didn’t cover on the way down to the ring.]

##Det blir en sensation överallt förstås
##På fester kommer alla att släppa loss
##Kom igen
##Nu tar vi stegen om igen

##Så rör på era fötter
##Oh-ah-ah-ah
##Och vicka era höfter
##Ooh-la-la-la
##Gör som vi
##Till denna melodi

[Andi finally turns for the ring and runs towards it, hopping up on the apron for some more dancing.]

##Så. Kom. Och!

##Dansa med oss
##Klappa era händer
##Gör som vi gör
##Ta några steg åt vänster
##Lyssna och lär
##Missa inte chansen
##Nu är vi här med
##Caramelldansen

[When the solo kicks in, Andi leans back over the top rope, landing in the ring on her feet and runs the ropes before the upcoming ‘slow part’.]

##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...
##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...
##Ooh-ooh-ooh-ah-oh-ah...

[The song fades down just before the last verse kicks in, as Andi perches herself on the turnbuckles, doing her ‘Magical Girl Pose’ before the song is faded away.]

TAG TEAM INFO

Team Name: The “Burning Star Express” (BSX for short)

Team Members: “Lucky Star” Andi Takata & Kaoru “Blazing Rage" Asaka
Team Since: August 2010
Manager/Trainer: Angel Martinez, though he does not accompany them to the ring, save for certain occasions.
Combined Weight: 270lbs/123kg
Theme Song: “BLAZE” by Hatsune Miku (as performed by Andi Takata and the Burning Star Band)

Team Bio: Formed out of an uneasy affiliation in SPW, through the aspirations of Angel Martinez to get both his protégé (Takata), and an underused talent (Asaka) some exposure, and then slowly forged through early hardships, this team has slowly coming together to be one of the better women's tag teams in the world. Under the tutelage of Angel Martinez and his ‘significant other' Xian Pu, the girls are getting well trained in the arts of the ring as a tag team, achieving much success early in their tenure together, having been champions in such companies as JAW and ACE. They look to continue their dominance as a tag team together in the CWF.

Team Balance: Kaoru is clearly the stronger and more technically sound member of the team, but she's been doing it longer than Andi has. Andi's the fun one, she will take more crazy risks than her partner, tease opponents, and work the fans up. Angel has taken more of a backseat role as a manager, letting them do what they do and not directing traffic, and instead focusing more on his role away from the ring as a trainer & mentor for them.

Big Double Team Moves:

Solar Flare - Kaoru holds the opponent in a bear hug for Andi, who springboards into a Blockbuster, with the opponent getting faceplanted in the middle of the ring.

Interstellar Death Array - A seemingly non-stop series of the girls taking turns doing Running Corner Yakuza Kicks to an opponent, whether standing or downed.

Stardust Device (finish) - The opponent is lifted up into a delayed Japanese Ocean Suplex by either Kaoru or Andi, before dropping, the other partner comes off the top rope with a Missile Dropkick that the opponent cannot defend against due to their arms being tied up. Immediate cover with the bridged suplex.

Space Jam (finish) – On a downed opponent in the ring, both girls attack from the top turnbuckle. Kaoru Asaka will leap into a moonsault, and Andi Takata will do her AWESOME Shooting Star Press. Both girls then hang around for the pin.

Entrance:

[CUE J-ROCK!]

[The song builds quickly and within a few bars, into the flashing bright light blue lights of the Boardwalk Hall spring The Burning Star Express, Andi Takat hopping about waving for the crowd to cheer!]

Steve Horton: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, INTRODUCING AT THIS TIME, AT A COMBINED WEIGHT OF 270 POUNDS...

[Burning pop for Kaoru as the song goes into the guitar solo! Andi has now covered ringside and is slapping hands on her way back up the other side of the aisle, until she runs into her partner.]

Steve Horton: AND HER TAG TEAM PARTNER... HAILING FROM THE GREAT COSMOS BY WAY OF AKIHABARA, TOKYO, JAPAN AND NEWARK, NEW JERSEY...

[Asaka tries to get past Andi to get to the ring, as she's hopping around and excited to be here!]

Steve Horton: SHE IS THE MAGICAL GIRL FROM OUTER SPACE...

[Andi positions herself! Step out, arm up.]

Steve Horton: THE "LUCKY STAR" ANDIIIIIIIII TAAAAKATAAAAA!!!!!!

[POSE! Crowd loves it! Then both girls slide in under the bottom rope, and make their way to opposite turnbuckles., as the song drops into the guitar solo!]

THE BUUUURNING STAAAAAAR EXPREEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

[One last huge pop for this young tag team, before they climb down from the turnbuckles and get ready for their match as the music fades down before the next verse.]
