When their parents died in a tragic house fire just before the twins' 17th birthday, Gabe enlisted in the US Marine Corps, entered Boot Camp at Parris Island, and was assigned to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC, where he spent the next 10 years as a member of the All-Marine Wrestling Team.
