| This site is dedicated to my GG Grandfather Mishach Walker, a member of Company F of the 174th OVI The picture at left shows members of the Brooks-Grant Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans at the stone dedication. The dedication consisted of opening prayer by Pastor Marc Sarrett folllowed by a reading of the history of the 174th and biography of Mishach Walker. A poem was read entittled " The Battle is Over". The members of the SUV camp honored the late Private Walker with a firing of three volleys. The benediction was given and the ceremony concluded. The new stone was provided by the Veterans Administration. |

| Mishach Walker DOB: March 27, 1825 DOD:May 17, 1882 CO: E 9th WV CO: F 174th OVI Blacksmith Residence: Syracuse, Ohio Mishach enlisted in the 9th Reg. WVA Company E on Jan 9, 1862 at Mason Va, until discharged March 3, 1864 at Winchester, Va. after having been kicked by a horse he was shoeing. Mishach joined the 174th OVI Company F on August 18, 1864 at Racine, Ohio and mustered out with company at Raleigh, NC. June 28, 1865 Physical Description: 5'11" tall, dark complexion, grey eyes and brown hair. |
