Emily Marshall and John Yates have been dancing together for over four years, competing and doing shows in all of the International style of dances, as well as Argentine tango, salsa, and American style smooth. John began dancing and teaching at Arthur Murray's in Michigan at the age of 18, and Emily began teaching while attending the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Emily began dancing at age 5 in ballet, tap, modern, and jazz, performing in local dance companies until college where she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. Most recently they have been featured performers with the international review "Beats of Passion". The show was held in the showroom at the Venetian, in Las Vegas, through most of 2001 and was seen nationally on the Jerry Lewis telethon. John and Emily have competed extensively across the United States, and have enjoyed working with some of the top coaches in the world from England, Finland, Denmark, Australia, and the U.S. They have won at the Hawaii Star Ball, Sapphire Ball Championships, and the Rocky Mountain Challenge. They have also been United States National 10-dance finalists 2 years in a row. They own a dance studio in Las Vegas, currently called Floor Play Dance Studio, but soon to be Las Vegas Dancesport. |
