Winchester Secures Top MSL Prize - Times Article (10/20)

Middle School Girls 1st of 4 teams
The middle school girls used a great team performance to capture the MSL Buckeye Championship.  The MSL title was the 2nd league title in school history (first title was in 2000) and Hannah Spicer became the first Canal Winchester middle school girl to win an individual cross country title.

Middle School Boys
3rd place of 5 teams
The middle school boys continued making big strides of improvement with a 3rd place finish at the MSL Buckeye Championship.  Vincent Butler led the way in 7th place with an All-League performance, and Joey Ramsey busted a huge Personal Record by cutting 49 seconds off of his best time.

High School Girls 1st place of 6 teams
The high school girls packed six girls in the top 21 places to win their second MSL Buckeye Championship in school history and their first in 20 years.  Kaylin Brown led the way with a 9th place finish and Heather Spicer ran a clutch race by taking o?ver one minute off of her previous best time.  Whitney Hughes also ran a personal best time for the team.

High School Boys 2nd place of 6 teams
The high school boys used strong surgues in the second half of the race to secure a second place finish for the team.  Scott Wildermuth pulled away in the last 1000 meters to take first place and win Mid-State League Buckeye runner of the year honors.  Scott joined his former teammate and 2003 graduate, Jeff Irwin, as the only two Canal Winchester boys to win a MSL Individual title.
