ABLE -- Alternative Basic Library Education

An Idaho Commission for Libraries site designed for library staff members who have no formal library education. Topics include collection assessment, materials selection, weeding, MARC cataloging, Dewey classification and reference services. A good introduction for employees new to the library, and also a good resource for solo school librarians who do a little bit of everything.

SABLE -- Idaho's Supplemental Alternative Basic Library Education

OELMA 2006

Annual conference of the Ohio Educational Library Media Association, held in Columbus. Includes two days of sessions, vendor area, and visiting authors.

OKI Children's Literature Conference 2006

The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Children's Literature Conference. Sponsored by Southwest Ohio and Neighboring (SWON) Libraries, formerly known as Greater Cincinnati Library Consortium (GCLC). This year the conference is at Northern Kentucky University on Saturday, November 4, 2006 and features Eric Kimmel and Will Hillenbrand.


Kent State School of Library Science

Lists workshops and classes offered by Kent State. Workshops are sometimes offered in the Cincinnati area, as well as in Columbus and Kent. These are graduate level courses. The workshops are usually two days (Friday & Saturday).
