| It all started back in 1999, when a new math teacher (Jesse Woodward) came to the high school from Clemson University. He had played on the Ultimate team there and loved the game. Ultimate Frisbee was being played in P.E. at the high school (CVHS) and Jesse heard that this kid really loved it. His name was Justin Deitchman. Shortly after, they met and decided to start a club. Minimal amounts of people came to the meetings at lunch though. At that point Justin relinquished his duties as club president and Matt West took over (that's me). The team grew and started practicing after school. Matt was team captain for the 2000 and 2001 teams. The 2000 team went to the first ever California State Championships and took first place! The 2001 team went to Junior Nationals and ranked 13th! What's in store for 2002? The new captain is Dave Hansen. The team is The Red Hand. Good luck! |
