Volunteers and Assistants
Clestina Barrett

Clestina has been volunteering at the CVTCLC for about a year now.  She has her own computer at home as well as using the center systems.

Clestina is working on developing her  own computer skills and is at present building her own web site.  So far it is an 8 page site with family photos.  Clestina has had to learn scanning skills and graphic file conversion skills in order to build her web page the way she wants it to be.

Clestina is very ready to assist other residents of CVT in using the CLC and enjoys meeting and greeting new neighbors.
Anna Chamberlain

Anna started using computers at the Portland Parks and Rec Center in North Portland.  When the classes at that lab closed, she transferred to the  HAP GOALPOST computer Center and then finally transferred to the Computer Learning Center at 8911 N Woolsey.

Anna faithfully opens the CVTCLC four mornings a week (Monday through Thursday) and tries to help people to get started using the center's resources.  If someone is sick Anna is willing to cover for them and open up the center aside from her regular hours.

Anna spends time practicing her typing skills and playing Mahjongg.  She checks her email and is learning the game of Hearts.
Keisar Habtemariam

Keisar has been coming to the CVTcomputer Learning Center since it first opened in February of 1996.  The last couple of school breaks Keisar has followed in his sister Emnet's footsteps, and he has been the lab assistant.

He kept the children busy and they kept him hopping.

Keisar attends Benson Polytechnic High School in NE Portland.  His high school focus is in Drafting

Zenona Coronel

Zenona considers herself a regular person.  That is not a very accurate description because we know... that Zenona speaks spanish as well as english.  She is also very feisty, and humorous.  She is able to smile and yell at the same time.  That takes a very special talent.

Zenona came to Portland in 1990 and moved to the Columbia Villa community in 1995.  She has two beautiful children, Ramon is 10 and Perla is 7.  Zenona is the CPS (Community Program Specialist - DETeam) for Columbia Villa - Tamaracks.  She also works at Metropolitan Family Services.  Zenona is a Parent Leader for a program called FAST,  Families And Schools Together.  She has a way of getting involved in schools and community activities.

Her skills include being very good with people and finding resources that can be shared.  Her computer knowledge allows her to conduct a ESL class using computer software at the CVTCLC.
