Voice
Wing is a Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) service that
offers phone service over a broadband Internet connection. Call
Management is provided using the on line application (Personal
Account Manager) and it is improved and simplified -set up and
manages popular call features like Voice Mail, Call Logs, Call forwarding
and Caller ID. We can take Voice Wing with us whenever we are in
travel. We can access our Voice Wing Personal Account Manager(Which
Contains such information as call records and voice mails) from any computer
that has access to the Internet.
Role/Responsibilities:

2: Local Number Portability for Voice Wing
(November 2005-February
2006)
LNP
provides users of telecommunication services, to retain, at the same location,
existing telephone numbers without impairment of Quality, Reliability, or
Convenience when switching from one telecommunications carrier to another
Voice
Wing will allow customer to pre-qualify existing phone for portability to Voice
Wing using PAM. If pre-qualified, customer can access the LOA form on the
PAM. The form will be pre-populated with customer information, viz. address,
phone, etc. Once submitted, the LOA form will be stored in VoiceWing data store,
and the LNP order will be sent to Level3. Customer can view the LOA form on PAM.
Customer will be able to see LNP order status on the PAM. Customer will also be
able to cancel LNP order. Live Bridge will be able to see customer LNP order
status on Dr. Voice Wing. They will be able to view and update LOA form on
behalf of the customer. After the LOA form is filled and submitted, the data is
sent over by the middle ware to the service provider (L3 in this case), who in
turn creates a LNP order with the respective carrier.

3: Network Security (January 2005-October 2005)
Encryption
is the transformation of data into a form that is as close to impossible as
possible to read without the appropriate knowledge (a key). Its purpose is to
ensure privacy by keeping information hidden from anyone for whom it is not
intended, even those who have access to the encrypted data. Decryption is the reverse of
encryption; it is the transformation of encrypted data back into an intelligible
form.
DES,
an acronym for the Data Encryption Standard, is the name of the Federal
Information Processing Standard (FIPS), which describes the data encryption
algorithm (DEA).The DEA has a 64-bit block size and uses a 56-bit key
during execution (8 parity bits are stripped off from the full 64-bit key). The
DEA is a symmetric cryptosystem.
The
RSA cryptosystem is a public-key cryptosystem that offers both encryption and
digital signatures. The security of the RSA system is based on the assumption
that factoring is difficult.

4: Digital Signal Processing (September 2004- December
2004)
The
DFT can be reduced from exponential time with the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)
algorithm. FFT is an algorithm for computing that DFT that has order O(NlogN) for
certain length inputs. Now when the length of data doubles, the spectral
computational time will not quadruple as with the DFT algorithm; instead, it
approximately doubles.
A
low pass filter is the one which passes low frequency
signals and high frequency signals are blocked. A high pass
filter is the one which passes high frequency
signals and low frequency signals are blocked.
