The earth shook,
Buildings collapsed,
People died.


It took three minutes,
To destroy what had taken years to build.
In those three minutes.
I lost everything.
My parents, my family, my home.


Sometimes I wonder,
Why I have survived ?
Survived only to see,
Pain. People crying.


Even now the earthquake baffles
Me. It has been fifty years
Now. Since the earth shook,
That sunny morning.


And only today have I discovered
That. Earthquakes don't kill
People. Buildings do.
