The magic continues. CV traveled to Santa Monica and slaughtered the Vikings 3-0. Kali started in the circle and pitched what I think is one of her best games of the season. She had 9 K's and limited the Vikings to just 3 hits. The game started like most games with Ashley leading off with a hit, then Sissy beat out a bunt then Baillie drove the ball right up the center to score Ashley. Caitlyn hit a bloop single to R/F to score Baillie and the Falcons were up 2-0. This is a tuff team to beat when you spot them 2 runs. Their pitcher had their crowd excited with 3 K's in the 1st. Kali came right back at them and got 2 K's herself in the 1st. Ashley got on with a walk in the 2nd and the Viking pitcher added 3 more K's to her total. The Vikings went 3 up and 3 down in the 2nd. Baillie lead off in the 3rd with a stand up double. Kali sacrificed her over to 2nd. and Caitlyn hit the ball hard  at the S/S when she threw to home plate to get Baillie but she was safe and Caitlyn got on with a fielders choice to make it 3-0. That would be basically it. Kali got a hit in the 5th, Erin got a hit in the 6th and Baillie got her 3rd hit in the 7th to give CV their 8th hit of the game. The Vikings went 3 up 3 down in the 3rd, 4th and in the 5th they thought that they were going to get  something goingwith 2 out the #7 batter doubled then  the #8 batter singled moving the runner over to 3rd. With runners at the corner Kali bared down and got the #9 batter to strike out for the 3rd of the inning and her 6-7 and 8th K. In the 6th they got a runner on with the only walk of the game but that would be it. In the bottom of the 7th the 1st batter hit a shot to C/F and Stephanie chaed it down to make a over the shoulder catch. The next batter flew out to Zarah in R/F and then the #7 batter hit into a 6-3 play for the final out and end the game CV is moving on to the SEMI=FINALS on Tuesday but we don't know who we are playing yet. The La Serna/ Beckman was rained out and will be played tomorrow. The Falcons have not made it to the SEMI-FINALS since 2000 where they lost 1-0 to Corona. Soas soon as we know who we are playing and where it will be posted on this site. Hope to see you at the game.

Well the Falcons took it to another Bulldog team today. They beat a scrappy Highland Bulldog team from Palmdale 6-2. It took a few innings for everyone to size up their pitcher but when they did things started to happen. Stephanie drew first blood with a single in the bottom of the 2nd inning while Highland had gone 3 up and 3 down in the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd. CV started the fireworks in the bottom of the 3rd with 1 out Zarah beat out a bunt, Sissy hit a bloop single to L/F, Baillie dre a walk then kali hit to L/F to score Zarah and Sissy, CV 2-0. The top of the 4th saw the Bulldogs go 3 up and 3 down again for the 4th consecutive inning with 6 K's. CV also went 3 up and 3 down in the 4th. The top of the 5th is when the Bulldogs got their one and only break with a string of 3 hits to score their only runs of the game and tie the score at 2 apiece.  The Falcons were due to explode any minute and in the bottom of the 5th that is exactly what happend. Stephanie stepped into the batters box and hit a 2 RBI double to L/F to score Jaimie (pinch runner for Kali) and Caitlyn to finish the scoring at 6-2 Falcons. The top of the 6th  with their leadoff hitter ready to go she hit a single to R/F but was picked off with a beautiful fielders choice from Erin to Sissy at 2nd base. The #3 batter walked and then the #4 batter hit into a double play by Sissy to end the inning. the bottom of the 6th CV went 3 up and 3 down. The last gasp for the Bulldogs was the top of the 7th. Heather struck out the #5 batter to give her the 9th K of the day, the #6 batter hit a shot to L/F but Caitlyn tracked it down and caught it for out #2 then the #7 batter hit a grounder to R/F and Zarah scopped it up and fired it to 1st base to get the final out. CV 6, Highland 2. On to the QUARTER FINALS on Thursday. The Falcons will travel to Santa Monica and continue their magical season there. Game time is 3:15. Directions are on the directions tab. A GREAT finish to a GREAT season! The last time CV mercied Arcadia was the 1st game of the 2003 season and that was a 15-0 game.I know the seniors will remember this game and especially this season. It started with the celebration of the 7 seniors as they walked in from center field to home plate with their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers presented to them by a fellow team mate. It was a GREAT Kodak moment. Once the celebration was over it was time to play softball. Arcadia lead off batter got on with a single to L/f and was moved to 3B but would be left dstranded there. It took a couple of innings for the Falcons to get a bead on the Apache pitcher but when they did they exploded. Ashleigh started off in the 1st with a single to R/F then Sissy hit into a fielders choice getting Ashleigh out. Baillie hit a single to L/F  but that would be it for the 1st. The 2nd saw the Apaches get their 2nd hit but that would be it. In the bottom of the 2nd Erin lead off with a single to R/F , Jr sacrificed her over but that would be it. The top of the 3rd saw Arcadia get their 3rd hit but nothing doing. The bottom of the 3rd was the big explosion. Ashleigh lead off but grounded out. Sissy walked, Baillie singled to L/F, Stephanie walked and with bases loaded Caitlyn hit s hot to C/F scoring Sissy and Baillie. Erin was up next and hit a shot to R/F and when the fielder tried to dive to catch the ball and misjudged it the ball went past her and Erin wound up at 3B scoring Stephanie and Caitlyn. Jr hit a single to R/F scoring Erin, Kali grounded out for the 2nd out and then Zarah hit a grouinder up the middle to score Jr. Ashleigh came up for the 2nd time in the inning and singled ti R/F.Zarah scored when she was going to 3B and the catcher threw down and no onw=e was there and she walked in. Sissy got on with the error by the 2nd baseman and Ashleigh scored. Big Explosion up next. Baillie hit her 16th HOMERUN and scored Sissy. Stephanie got on with an error by the center fielder and then Caitlyn hit her 2nd double to score Stephanie. Erin drew a walk and Jr popped up to end the inning. 11 runs scored to make it 11-0 CV. The top of the 4th saw Arcadia get their lone run off of 2 singles and a passed ball. The bottom of the 4th saw more excitement from the Falcons. Kali started and was hit by the pitcher. Zarah walked, Ashleigh got on with a fielders choice, Sissy the same and with 2 on and 2 ouit Baillie stepped up for her 2nd explosion of the day to record her 17th HOMERUN of the season and pushed 3 more runs across for the Falcons. That HOMERUN was a new school record for most HOMERUN'S in a season and she also broke her freshman HOMERUN record of 16 in a season. Stephanis got on with a single to R/F and then Caitlyn with a single to L/F and Erin hit into the 3rd fielders choice of the inning to end it for CV. EJ came in to pitch the 5th inning and faced 4 batters to end the assualt on Arcadia. They were probably glad not see the Falcons again in the bottom of the 5th. Final score 14-1 CV. The end of a GREAT regular season, 26-0 and 14-0 in Pacific League. "THE PERFECT SEASON". Congratulations to the Falcons on their 1st season now onto their 2nd season, C.I.F. Playoffs which will start next Friday, May 16th. Hope to see you there.

CV played host to Hoover and this was no contest. With the final score of 19-0, the Falcon pitchers pitched a no hit shut out. They combined for 10 K's out of the 15 batters that they faced. Kali got the start and the win for her 14th of the season. Heather threw the 4th and EJ the 5th. CV put up 2 runs in the 1st with Sissy scoring off of a Kali RBI and Kaela (C-R for Kali) scoring off of a Caitlyn RBI double. The final game of the regular season is Thursday at home against our arch enemy Arcadia. They would like nothing better than to come in and spoil our perfect season, not going to happen!!! See you on Thursday.

The Falcons win their 24th concesutive game and give Coach Berry and Coach Elliott their 500th C.V. win. They traveled to Pasadena to take on the Mustangs of Muir High School. Heather got the win and it was her 11th of the season. Ashley started things off with a single to R/F and went 2-4 with 3 RBI's. Zarah was up 3 times with 2 hits and an RBI. Erin went 3-5 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Kaela went 2-3 with 2 RBI's. Sissy was 3-4 with 5 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Overall the Falcons put up 26 hits and scored 23 runs. After the game was over the excitement began. It started with a doucing of ice water from the water bucket over Coach Berry's head. The News Press and the Daily News were there to record the event and with many signs made there were alot of pictures taken. Congratulations to Coach Berry and Coach Elliott on such a great accomplishment!!!!

Even with all the heckling from the hostile crowd the Falcons remained cool, calm and collected and showed the Bulldogs that their "Dog House" wasn't so powerful afterall. CV went about their business waiting for the moment that the ball would bounce their way. That happened in the top of the 7th inning. Up until that point it looked like the pitcher from Burbank was going to over power the Falcons, having 7 K's and only giving up 3 hits. In the 1st inning it looked like  business as usual with Ashley starting things off with a stand up double and Baillie drawing a walk but that would be it. The Falcons were quiet in the 2nd and 3rd, Baillie got a single in the 4th, and nothing in the 5th. With 1 out in the 6th Zarah hit a double to L/F and got to 3rd but nothing doing. The top of the 7th was the break they were waiting for. Baillie lead off with a hard hit all the way to the L/F fence and made it to 2B. Kali got on with an error buy the S/S moving Baillie over to 3B. Caitlyn hit a shot to the second baseman which allowed Baillie to score the winning run. The Falcons knew that they had to hold the Bulldogs and not let them score. They hit deep to C/F twice but Stephanie traked them down and caught them both to end the game. Wow what a game. The Falcons showed for the second straight game that they can play under pressure and hold their composure and do the job. Congratulations to this team, a team of destiny. Next up is Muir which will give Coach Berry his 500th win at C.V. Come out and show your support.

The Falcons win a white knuckler, 3-1 in the 6th. Heather pitched her 10th game of the season and notched her 10th consecutive win. She only gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and adds 9 more K's to her total. The Indians scored in the 1st off of a leadoff walk and then a double to score their lone run and put them up 1-0. CV scatters 7 hits but leave 7 stranded and runners at 3B 3 times. Ashley lead off the game with a single and Baillie also got a single but that would be it. In the 2nd Erin got a single and Sissy got a single in the 3rd, Caitlyn drew a walk in the 4th and went 3 up, 3 down in the 5th. Baillie lead off in the bottom of the 6th with a walk and with the tying run on you could see the momentum swinging the Falcons's way. Kali followed Baillie with a hard shot to R/F and just missed being safe buy a hair but she gave it her all sliding into 1st. With 2 out Stephanie hit a single to L/F scoring Baillie. Then Heather hit a single and then Erin drew a walk. With bases loaded Zarah hit a shot to score Stephanie and Kaela (C-R for Heather) to put the Falcons up 3-1. The defense dug in in the top of the 7th and when the Indians went 3 up, 3 down you could see the rellief on everyones face. A hard fought game and you can only keep a great team down so long before they explode. So now they have to travel to Burbank tomorrow to take on the Bulldogs. It will be another tough match for the Falcons but they seem to be a team of destiny this year. See you there!!!

We face Burroughs and Burbank back to back and they will be a much more zealous foe. Hope to see you there.

Heather drew a walk, Kaela ran for her and eventually scored the 6th run of the inning when Jaime got on with an error. Glendale managed their lone hit in the 1st but that would be it! They will get back at it on Tuesday April 22 at Glendale. This starts the second half of league play and gives us 7 games left in the regular season. How exciting this season is!!

The Falcons played host to the Bulldogs of Burbank. They sent the Bulldogs home with their tails between their legs. Heather took to the circle and got her 8th win of the season. She doesn't give them alot of opportunities but they manage 6 hits and 1 unearned run and 2 earned runs. Burbank started off with a leadoff single, sacrificed over to 2B, the #3 batter struck out looking, the next batter drew a walk and with 2 out they score a run off of an error. The Falcons are poised though, they start with  Ashley leading off  with a single and then with 2 out Kali hits an RBI single up the middle to score Ashley. Burbank didn't do anything but go 3 up - 3 down in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings. CV on the other hand put a couple of hits  together and manage another run. In the bottom of the 3rd Sissy beat out a bunt single and then with 2 out Kali hit a shot to center to score Sissy and winds up at 3B after the center fielder over runs the ball and Kali legs it out all the way to 3rd and slides in safe. The bottom of the 5th saw a towering leadoff HOMERUN by Baillie. her 13th of the season and it put the Falcons up 5-1. In the top of the 6th things started to get interesting when Burbank put a couple of dinkers together and then a single up the middle to score 2 runs but that would be it for them. Final score 5-3. CV 6-0 in league, Burbank 5-1. CV ranked 1st in CIF and Burbank was ranked 3rd. This team is setting all kinds of new Falcon records. 18 is again the most wins without a loss in CV history!!! CONGRATS to the Falcons. Keep it UP! Next up is Hoover at Hoover on Thursday. If you're not there I understand.

CV travels to Arcadia and comes away with a big win, 7-3. Kali gets her 10th win of the season and after starting a little erratic and not having Lainey behind the plate made a difference, but she settled down and  after throwing 31 pitches in the 1st inning comes back and only throws 61 pitches in the remaining 6 innings and holds the Apaches to just 4 hits. She tagged them with 9 K's and had at least 1 K in all 7 innings. On the offensive side, the Falcons started strong and scored 3 in the first. Ashleigh lead off with a stand up double, Sissy was going to sacrifice her over to 3rd but she beat out the bunt and then Ashleigh scored on a wild pitch to Baillie. Stephanie hit a shot to center and beat out a triple to score Sissy. Caitlyn knocked in Stephanie with a single to put the Falcons on the board 3-0. The Apaches score 2 in the first off of a hit batter, a single and a walk. CV came right back in the top of the 2nd  with Ashleigh leading off again and hit's a to the fence double, Sissy sacrificed her over to 3rd, Stephanie got her 2nd hit and an RBI scoring Ashleigh. Caitlyn also got her 2nd hit with an over the fence DOUBLE that should have been a HOMERUN. The umpire ruled it a ground rule double because the C/F ran into the fence and knocked it over. Stephanie scored off of Caitlyn's hit making the score 5-2. Arcadia came back in the bottom of the 2nd with a solo homerun to bring the Apaches within 2 but that would be all the scoring for them on this day. The top of the 3rd saw Erin smack a stand up double and with 1 out Zarah beat out a bunt and moved Erin over to 3B. On the next pitch to Ashleigh, Zarah stole 2B and the catcher tried to get her but threw the ball into C/F and Erin scored to put the Falcons up 6-3. CV went down in the 4th after Baillie lead off with a walk and 3 straight pop ups ended the inning. Arcadia  managed their 4th and final hit in the bottom of the 4th. The top of the 5th saw Emily get her 1st hit and Zarah get her 2nd but the Falcons were unable to get any runs in. Arcadia 3 up, 3 down. The top of the 6th saw some fireworks with Baillie leading off, and yet to have a hit, slugged a solo HOMERUN to give the Falcons their 7th and final run of the day. Stephanie followed with her 3rd hit with a stand up double and with 2 out Erin got her 2nd hit with a single up the middle and Stephanie was thrown out at the plate  for the 3rd out. Arcadia 3 up. 3 down. CV had intentions of scoring more. Zarah got her 3rd hit of the day but CV was not able to get any more and that would be it for them. Arcadia 3 up, 3 down. Game, Set, Match!! 7-3 CV. A great game by the Falcons, 8 of the 9 batters had at least one hit, 5 had multiple hits and after Kali settled down they were done. Next up is Burbank, which is 11-0 and ranked 3rd in CIF right behind us. So needless to say that this will be the most important game of the season and it is at C.V. Tell all your friends that this is a game of two undefeated teams and will give the winner bragging rights for the Pacific League 1st place, all alone.  See you there!!!

The Falcons hosted the 'Stangs of Muir and they were not a good host at all. They hit everything thrown at them and then some. Heather started in the circle and got her 7th win, all 3 pitchers participated. They faced 15 batters and had 9 outs by K's. The Falcons had to slow down their bats and concentrate on timing and they started tagging the ball from the 1st pitch. A combined 27 hits, 3 HOMERUNS by Baillie, 5 doubles by Ashleigh, Sissy, Stephanie, Nikki and Jaime. It was the usual mercy game, 24-0.

After a 20 minute break the Falcons went back to work in game 2. Kali pitched the game and got her 9th win of the season, but it wasn't easy. They went quietly in the 1st and 2nd with Sissy geting the only hit in the 1st. The Wildcats drew first blood in the bottom of the 2nd when they put 3 hits together to score their lone run. The Falcons came right back though to score 2 runs themselves. Kali leadoff with a single to LF with a to the fence double, Zarah hit a double up the middle scoring Nikki (C-R for Kali) from 2B. With 2 out Sissy hit a single up the middle to score Zarah to put the Falcons up 2-1. They went 3up-3 down. Lainey leadoff the 4th with a single up the middle but that would be it. The Wildcats and the Falcons went quietly in the 5th and 6th.
