Alka (Rice) Whitt


Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements for Alka Whitt. Mrs. Whitt was born in
Johnson County, the daughter of the late Fred and
Georgeanne Pendleton Rice.  She was a member of the
Caudill Fork United Baptist Church and was a past 
president of the Republican Women’s Club. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Whitt, in 
April 1981. Surviving are one son, Calvin Whitt of 
Paintsville; two brothers Arnold Rice of Salyersville
and Earl rice of Oil Springs; one sister, Allie 
Powers of Paintsville; one grandson, Marc Whitt; and
one great-granddaughter, Emily Whitt. Funeral 
services were held Friday, December 10, 1993, at 
Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Drew Martin
officiating. Burial was in Highlands Memorial Park at 
Staffordsville. Pallbearers were Bronelle Skaggs, Joe 
Conley, Danny McKenzie, Danny Colvin, David Blair, 
Clifford Boyd and Jim Tackett.
