Vada Thornbury

1920-2003

Vada Rice Thornbury, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at her 
home in Hitchins, Ky., following an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Thornbury, 
in 1971 and by two sisters and six brothers.

Mrs. Thornbury was born April 4, 1920, a daughter of the late 
Thomas and Annie Marshall Rice in Denton, Ky.

She was a member of Willard Missionary Baptist Church in 
Willard, Ky.

Vada is survived by two daughters, Janet Kazee and her husband, 
Harold, of Hitchins and Marilyn Caudill and her husband, Ed, of 
Grayson, Ky.; three grandchildren, Cathy Kazee Cline and her 
husband, Terry, of Medway, Ohio, Mike Kazee and his wife, 
Jennifer of Grayson, and Dana Caudill McKinney and her husband 
Jerry, also of Grayson; five great-grandchildren; and two great-
great-grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and a host of 
family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Kazee, Terry Cline, Chad Cline, Jerry 
McKinney, Jeremy Johnson and Ray Fosson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Sparks 
Funeral Home in Grayson with Delmar Rogers and John Goebel 
officiating. Burial will follow in Grayson Memory Gardens.

Friends and family may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral 
home.
