WILLIAM E. RICE

 OF COLLISTA
 DIES TUESDAY

William E. "Dick" Rice, 83, retired farmer of Collista,
died at 4:15 p.m., January 22, in a local hospital
following an illness of several months.

The son of the late John and Miriam Fitch Rice, he was
born in Johnson County, June 7, 1873. He was a member of
the Freewill Baptist Church.

His wife, Allie Webb Rice, preceded him in death four
years ago.

Six children survive;  two sons, Russell, Collista, and
Walter, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; four daughters, Minnie
Fitzpatrick, Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Brookie Sublett,
Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Grant Johnson, Collista, and Mrs. Irvin
Blair, Barnetts Creek.

Funeral services were conducted from the Collista Freewill
Baptist Church at 1:00 Thursday, January 24, by Claude
Preston. Music was by the Toms Creek Quartet.

Burial was in the family cemetery at Collista under the
direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
