Thomas Rice 

JOPPA, Ill.--Memorial services for Thomas W. "Ced" Rice, 66, of 
Joppa will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in 
Metropolis. The Rev. Loren Carlton will officiate. Mr. Rice died 
at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. 
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 
306 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3847. 

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Holman Rice; one daughter, 
Angela Shelton of Hopkinsville, Ky.; two sons, Craig Rice of 
Vandalia and Alfred Rice of Metropolis; two sisters, Sue Rice of 
Joppa and Mary Lou Rice of Merced, Calif.; three brothers, John 
Rice of St. Peters, Mo., and Jerry Rice and Bob Rice, both of Merced; 
five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

His parents were Tom Rice and Sarah Rush Rice. 

There will be no visitation.
