Nannie Rice Childers, 89, of Rakes Hill Road, Elkhorn, died Friday, June 9, 2000 at Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville after an illness. 
She was the daughter of the late Randal Rice and Mattie Russell Rice of Adair County, and was a member of Rakes Hill Baptist Mission. 
She was married to Sanford Childers, who preceded her in death in 1974. 
survivors include one son, Alton Childers of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Montrey Cox and Erica Childers; two great-grandchildren, Heather Cox Milby and Beth Cox; and one brother, George Tom Rice of Columbia. 
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Douglas Garrett; and two brothers, Edward Rice and Ray Rice. 
Pallbearers were Jim Cheatham, Jack Hamblin, Brent Cox, Jerry Cox, Doug Cox and Billy Dabney.
