RICE, Martha Elizabeth Bartley Age, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, 
died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at her residence. Born on March 22 
1922, in Ligon, she was the daughter of the late Acie and Mandy 
Horn Bartley. Her husband, Shirley B. Rice, preceded her in death. 
Survivors include one son, Harry G. Rice of Indianapolis, Indiana; 
seven daughters, Clara J. Hamilton, Ruby M. Rice, Amanda L. Rice, 
Barbara J. Rice, and Debbie K. Rice, all of Indianapolis, Audrey M. 
Lowe of Abington, Virginia, and Shirley A. Davis, of Prestonsburg; 
one half-brother, Ray Fenix, seven grandchildren and 14 great-
grandchildren. Burial  in the Elmer Rice Cemetery, Banner, under 
the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
