JIM RICE PRINCETON, Ky. -- Services for Jim Rice, 57, Madisonville, formerly of Princeton, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan's Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jim Lantrip and Jerry Easley officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Church Cemetery, Lyon County. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight. He died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, following a brief illness. A native of Caldwell County, he was born Feb. 24, 1944, the son of the late Harvey Bernard and Ludeen Piercy Rice. He was an employee of the maintenance department of the Hopkins County Board of Education. He was a traffic and security officer for Madisonville-North Hopkins High School and had been a police office in Princeton and the police chief in Dawson Springs and Earlington. He was a member of the Richland Missionary Baptist Church. Two brothers, Donald Rice, Lexington, and Allen Rice, Kentucky, survive. Kentucky New Era 07/06/2001
