MRS. RICE FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - Mrs. Jane Brannen Rice, 77, of Amelia Island, Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at her home in Osprey Village. Jane, one of six children, was born Nov. 16, 1925, to Jack Brannen and Mary O'Neill. She attended St. Patrick School and continued on to St. Elizabeth Nursing School, graduating in 1946. Jane devoted her life to helping others. She was a devout Catholic who was an active member of her local parish. Jane was loved by many. She will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her beloved husband, Donald, with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October; her seven children, Mark, Michael, Anne Pheasant, John, Richard, Ellen and Julie; her 11 grandchildren, Katie and Sara Pheasant, Amanda, Jaime, Kevin, Sean, Brendon, Rosemary, Johnny, Shannon and Colin; her three sisters, Martha Fishter, Ann Schuster and Betty Rice; and her brother, Jack Rice. Her sister, Sue Brueggemeyer; and her daughter, Mary Barbara, have previously passed away. There will be a memorial service in the Maysville-Covington area. Details will be announced soon.
