Earl H. Rice Earl H. Rice, 82, of the City of Fox Chase, was born Sunday, December 19, 1920, to Ernest and Ida Hawkins Rice in Breckenridge County, KY. He returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at his residence, with loved ones near his side, after a valiant battle with cancer. Mr. Rice served his country in the US Army during World War II, was retired from Levy's Building Supply Co. with 50 years of faithful service and a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and Shawnee Lodge #830 F&AM. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Betty Lee Rice; a daughter, Dodie Smith and her husband, Gary P. Smith; a son, Tom Rice; eight grand- children; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral for Mr. Earl H. Rice will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Family Owned Funeral Home, Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd., where friends may kindly visit from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
