Charles B. Rice 

1923-2002 OHIO — Charles B. Rice, 79, 
of Tipp City, Ohio, died Tuesday, Aug. 
6, at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. 
Born April 13, 1923, in Johnson County, 
a son of the late William Dewey and 
Ollie Mae Conley Rice, he was an 
inspector with Frigidaire Div. G. M. 
and a WW II Navy veteran. Survivors 
include his wife, Hattie Stapleton Rice
 of Tipp City; a son, Gary Rice of 
Dayton; three brothers, John Rice of 
East Point, Caul Rice of Huber Heights, 
Ohio, and Doug Rice of West Van Lear; 
thee sisters, Hermalee Andy of Ohio, 
Garnet Moore of Dayton and Helen Violet 
of Urbana, Ohio; and three grandchildren. 
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. 
Leroy Auxier Saturday, Aug. 10, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville. 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, 
Staffordsville. Jones-Preston Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements.
