Bertha (Rivers) Rice

Paintsville Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements for Bertha Rice, 87. Mrs. Rice 
was born February 6, 1902 in Johnson County, 
the daughter of Winfield and Dosha Rice 
Rivers.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist 
Church. She was preceded in death by her 
husband Alger Rice, in 1968. Surviving are 
two sons, Harold Morton Rice, of Paintsville, 
and Arnold Lee Rice, of Dayton, Ohio; and 
five grandchildren and four great-grand
children. Funeral services were held Thursday, 
October 19, 1989 in Paintsville Funeral Home 
Chapel, with Carl Baldridge and Joe Blevins 
officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial 
Park at Staffordsville.
