BALLET FOLKLRICO EL PULGARCITO
The Ballet Folklrico El Pulgarcito was established more than a decade ago, and is the only Salvadoran folklore group in the Washington, DC area. Its main goal is to represent and educate others about its Salvadoran roots through dance.

The dancers are all volunteers who use their free time to learn, rehearse and perform in the different community, religious, civic and political events throughout the year. The company is a family oriented group, and its dancers include mothers and daughters, brothers and sisters all performing together. Most of the dancers are U.S. citizens with Salvadoran-born parents who want their children to learn and be proud of their culture.

The Ballet Folklrico El Pulgarcito has performed at the Annual Salvadoran Festival in Arlington, the Annual Hispanic Festival in Washington, DC, Fiesta Musical of the National Zoo, AT&T Headquarters in New Jersey, the Miss El Salvador and Miss Latin America Beauty Pageants, the Treasury and Justice Departments, the Annual Cherry Blossom Parade, and the Embassy of El Salvador.

The group is directed by its founder, Mauricio Javier Salinas, and supported by its dance members.
