Based on the song by Wayne Cochran
I felt his hand in my hair,
His cries of fear.
Trembling beside me,
Fearing the worst.

He lay by my side in the cold, dark night.
The rain on my face.
His arm around my head,
Cradling it in his lap.

He sways back and forth
Whispering,
"I love you, don't go.  I love you."

I open my eyes for one last look,
His tear-struck face looks
Through my soul,
A flicker of hope.

I smile, he leans over me.
One last kiss, my time has come.
Weakly, trying, I softly say,
"I love you."
He returns it.

My eyes close once more,
For the last time.
His hot tear
Glides over my eye,
"I love you, don't leave me..."

All is lost.
His beloved Angel.
"... don't go..."
