RECORDING TO YOUR COMPUTER
I'll try to be as specific as possible, but do to many different computers and setups, I might not cover a certian area in your setup!
You must have a sound card to record on your computer, if you do not have a sound card you can also record on a cassette tape and send it in to
william for the Miles Away program!
First things you need when recording on your computer are:
- Your instrument

- A computer with a sound card

-
A  adapter plug 1/4 to 1/8" {to fit the guitar chord into the small input jack on your sound card}

-A external power source(i.e.preamp-effects, amplifier, ect. ect.}

-A computer program for recording on to your computer

SETTING UP YOUR COMPUTER FOR RECORDING!

first thing you have to do is find your
line in or mic in on the back of your computer located on your sound card!

Then plug in your chord adapter!

Then insert the 1/4" guitar chord in to the line in chord adapter!

Then plug in your outside power source{effect pedal, amplifier ect.ect.}
MAKE SURE THE VOLUME LEVEL IS TURNED DOWN ON YOUR AMPLIFIER OR YOU COULD DAMAGE YOUR SOUND CARD!

Then plug in your instrument to your effects{or amp}

Then download your
recording program and install!

Look at you sound card program and make sure the line in or mic in option is enabled, if not then enable it!

Then record!



CONVERTING WAVE FILES TO MP3's!

All you have to do is is download a
MP3 converter

Install it!

And open up your wave files with it,  and hit start!

important note!
If you are converting files for
Miles Away
, you want to convert your files at 128k  at 44100 quality {you'll see the option}
for all finished items going to
Miles Away to be recorded for

First get a chord with two 1/8" male ends!

Then plug your cassette players headphone jack to your computers line in or mic in!

Then record with your recording program!
