August 1992 we took our very first family vacation. Jerry's sister Marie was living with us at the time. Jerry was working at Bonanza and the Bibb. He had the week off from Bonanza but had just started working at the Bibb so we had to plan the vacation around his work schedule. He got off at 1:00 AM Tuesday morning, August 11. Marie, the kids and I picked him up from work and we hit the road. We made it to Panama City around 5 AM and took a little nap then started our vacation. It was very relaxing. We spent some time in the ocena but the undertow was pretty bad so we spent more time in the hotel swimming pool. The pool was really big and even had waterfalls. We played miniature golf and went to the Miracle Strip Amusement Park. But, most of this vacation was a chance to get away and enjoy some family time. As we were getting ready to leave a huge storm came and they closed all the beaches. Our hotel was right on the beach so the wind and waves were pounding on our balcony. Jerry was trying to get out of there before it got dangerous - I was standing on the balcony enjoying the storm. Call me crazy - Jerry did. But, I loved it. James was 4 years old and Joshua was 9 months old. Of course, they don't remember much of the trip but I am starting to learn the importance of pictures.
