On The Wedding
September 9, 2002 - Wow! we made it through the ceremony and our vows without screwing up majorly or without being too nervous! Now we are in beautiful Jamaica at Swept Away in Negril and we are relaxing and living it up! I cant believe I am typing this on a free internet kiosk on the second floor of the lobby building! Well, I alreadly spend too much time on the internet at home, so I better go. Thank you to all our guests for coming and we hope you had a great time! We can't wait to see the videos and pictures to make sure all this is not one fantastic dream! Love you all! - Matt and Jenny.

August 29, 2002 - WOW! What a crazy month! Only a few days to go! We are finalizing the eight hundred million details. Also, today we took our program to the publisher to be printed. Also, I am frantically trying to get the video presentation done for the reception. I am doing that as I type this, while waiting for the darn computer to render! I'm just glad we now have SOMETHING to show! I thank God that I have people that I can go to to accomplish this feat! They have been a huge help! Well, this will probably be my last entry before the wedding. I hope you can make it and really enjoy yourself! If not, then maybe we can send you a video of it! Ha! Oh, make sure you check back here a month or so after the wedding. I want to defiitely put a few pictures up from the honeymoon as well as pictures from the table cameras. Bye for now! Seeya at the wedding!

July 24, 2002 - Jen and I are happy to announce that we are homeowners! Although we had a litle bit of trouble making the appraiser happy, the actual closing went pretty smoothly. That was a HUGE relief! Now we finally have a roof over our heads after we get married! Also since the last update, we have sent out the invitations (you have probably received yours already!), and we have picked out tuxes. I am slowly putting together the ceremony program and a reception video presentation in between fighting with my computer (I think I need a new hard drive - uh oh! Don't worry, I've already saved copies of all my files on cdrom!). Now we just have to get all the ceremony stuff in order. Jen has picked a florist and is working on that stuff. We still have to figure out the music and structure of our ceremony. Oh, by the way, Jen purchased table cameras for the reception and I wrote a fun little poem for them! Oh... what else... Jen finally received her wedding dress and she said it fit her really well. Just a simple hem is all it needed. I'm sure there's lots of things that I forgot. Besides the program and video that I'm working on, it's now pretty much just working on the details. It's all going so fast! I can't believe we're getting married in a little more than a month!

May 29, 2002 - We have applied for a mortgage to purchase Jen's parent's house. It'll take about a month, hopefully everything will be successful and uneventful. The house still has to be appraised, and all the tests still have to be conducted yet. We have picked out an invitation style, and are about to order them. We are working on our guest list and compiling all the names, addresses, and phone numbers. Jen has sent out a great letter to her bridesmaids to let them pick out their dress styles and for them to get to know each other a little bit better by the short bios she included. We're still working on where we want to get the tuxes for the guys. We have started designing our program, and we have started thinking about what songs we want to use and how the ceremony should go. All the major stuff is out of the way, the big thing now is getting the mortgage.

April 20, 2002 - Wow! Time sure is flying by! It seems like yesterday was Christmas! It's scary how fast it's going and thinking about all the things we still need to do. But in the past two months since the previous update in February, we've gotten some things accomplished.

1. We booked our honeymoon! We went through a travel agent (cheaper that way than booking yourself) that Jen got a postcard advertisement in the mail. They offered the best price for the place we wanted to go to. Check out the new "Honeymoon" link on the home page to find out where we're going!

2. We booked our DJ! After much anguish, we found a DJ who finally impressed me. I used to help videotape weddings, and all of them sound the same and do the same stuff. I was glad to finally find someone who rose above the average wedding DJ. All of the ones we were considering were professional and could do the job well, but they didn't prove themselves to be phenomenal in the guest interaction department. They didn't appear to be very fun. It was very hard for us to find one because there is hardly any established way of finding out what they're like - a couple have videos you can watch but none have any audio demo tapes DUH! At least with photographers, videographers and caterering facilities,  you can view their work!

3. We booked our transportation! We knew we wanted to get a "limo coach" (minibus, van thing) instead of a limousine or two. My stepdad, Paul Homan, knew somebody from his work who just got married who went with a company who gave us a very good price including an additional amount of time than the established three hour package that every limo company provides. It's at least a 45 minute drive in between the ceremony and reception, but with this vehicle and with our wedding party all included, it should be a lot of fun!

4. Jen has purchased a dress! Jen looked far and wide for the style she wanted, and wasn't very satisfied with anything she found. Finally, she saw a dress in a catalog that she really liked, found out more about it, and discovered she could order it (she couldn't find it anywhere around here to try it on) cheaper than she could have it custom made. She also decided on the green color (kind of like the link box on this site's home page as well as the "Jenny and Matt" title at the top) over a blue color for the girls.

5. We registered, registered, and registered again! We are now registered at Target and at Bed Bath and Beyond. Both registries are available on the web. Click on the homepage link to view them.

6. We purchased our unity candle holders! Another fantastic ebay purchase continuing our crystal motif! We still have to purchase the candles themselves yet...

7. Now we seriously want to get a mortgage to buy Jen's parents house. We seriously need to get a clue on how to do that!

8. We also now have to work on the whole invitation and wording thing!

February 17, 2002 - We've made some progress now that the holidays are over. One Saturday we took the train to Philadelphia and purchased our wedding rings, the next week we purchased our champagne flute glasses. That same weekend we listened to a DJ perform at a birthday party. We have also started to look into honeymoon ideas. Jen has started to search for a dress, but has not found one that is perfect yet. She is seriously thinking about having one custom made. She has also purchased patterns for the girls dresses, which her mom will make. She has yet to decide between two colors yet - they are both very nice. Both Jen and I have started asking people to be in our wedding party. We will probably list them here soon. I have started to look into transportation. We are probably going to go for one of those luxury mini-buses that are just like a limousine inside. We seem to be doing things out of order than the norm right now, but we have been completing some of the smaller things so hopefully we won't have to be as crazy closer to the wedding!

December 20, 2001 - Due to varying circumstances, we have decided not to worry about doing any more wedding planning until after the holidays! We still have to book the DJ.

November 21, 2001 - We have booked a photographer! Images Photography in Williamstown, NJ. Also, We have met with Tom Rosa of Tommy Productions, and now we can also announce that we have booked a videographer!

November 6, 2001 - We are having our ceremony at Barnsboro Baptist Church and reception at Flying W. Airport.
