Welcome to the Perspective Enlightenment Web Site. This portion of the web site will explain basic ideas of how to live "sustainably". Sustainable living is a general term to round up a way of life that will allow a person or many persons to be more environmentally friendly and self-sufficient. The earth as a whole is actually quite hearty in its natural ability to keep itself healthy, despite being very delicate to the touch of humans. If humans were to suddenly disappear the earth would be quite capable of caring for itself. Some may say that the earth with its natural environment would be better off if humans were to become extinct. With the alarming rate of natural resources humans consume and the devastating and ever increasing amount of pollution we produce, becoming extinct in the near future is quite a reality. We have pushed many species of flora and fauna to this extent. What can we do? It is difficult to answer. Somehow we have got to find a way to coexist with nature or human life among the rest will suffer the consequences. Drought, flooding, famine, and fire on our earth come as immediate results. Perhaps they are a foreboding what is to come. Current generations of humans may not be able to see this possibility if it does not hit home. It is extremely difficult to imagine what the long term environmental outcomes will be, especially with so many economic, social, and political crises the world currently is feeling. Where can we find the time to pay attention to the natural environment? How can we afford to save the environment?
Did you know that 90% of the energy used to power an incandescent light bulb becomes heat? By buying a fluorescent light bulb you will save electricity, which turns into saving money, and bulb replacement will be less frequent.
It is amazing how easy and self-rewarding sustainable living can really be for you and your community. Most Americans enjoy earning money. In essence with sustainable methods one would earn money, by saving money. Sustainable living adds to the possibility of lowering the cost of home and yard maintenance, as well as lowering the expenses of bills and taxes to pay. How nice would that be? By taking a local stand on environmental issues you will add to the world effort needed to save our Earth. All it takes is a commitment to a little self-education and regular sustainable practice.

Let's start with an overview in eco-tourism, beginning to understand by building a relationship with nature. It is important that we greet our local and foreign ecological systems with great respect. By means of eco-tourism, near or far, you have the opportunity to educate yourself and live a healthy lifestyle. Without nature and its resources we are nothing.
Start local and work your way out. Visit the park down the street from your house. Move on to canoeing, hiking, or biking at a nearby conservation areas. Then if possible, visit a beach or a rainforest, perhaps a visit to a foreign land. See it up close and realize how delicate the natural world really is.
