A-Kon was my first convention to go to. It was also my husband Larry's first convention. We took 3 club members with us:
Kit Ryan and Matt
Kit and Ryan were cosplaying most of the time as
Kurama and Karasu from Yu Yu Hakusho. Larry was
cosplaying as Chris Renfield from Resident Evil.
I had the camcorder most of the time we were there.
I think we got about 6 hours worth of film.
On Friday, most of the day we walked around looking for things. We hadn't found the schedules, so we missed a lot of stuff we would have liked to go to. We spent a lot of the day in the dealer's room. We did figure out when and where opening ceremonies was and were able to catch that. Nothing was starting on time, and the lines were a mess, but we still had a fun first day.
Saturday was great. We got the schedule and Larry and I knew everything we wanted to do. We made the Funimation, ADV, and Bandai panels. The Funimation and ADV panels were fun, but I did not like the guy in charge of the Bandai panel. He was very self-centered, egotistical, and couldn't answer most of the questions that were asked... not because he wasn't allowed to, but because he didn't know. Anyways, other than that one panel, everything went smooth. In the Funimation panel, Larry answered a question right and got the Kiddy Grade Volume 3 DVD.
Sunday was probably my favorite day though. I met Vic Mignogna, a very talented voice actor. He was one of the celebrities on the Pyramid game. (By the way, if you haven't checked out the game shows at conventions, you should. They're fun, plus if you get on them you're guaranteed to get free stuff, and who doesn't love free stuff?) After that we went to the Cold Reading Challenge- VA Panel. The character Vic played was.... a very interesting guy. Here is a link to more A-Kon 15 Photos. I hope you enjoy them!
