| This is my precious poodle that I had lost in August 2003. Meimei was the princess of the house, and I thank God for the wonderful days I was given to enjoy her. I lost her to congenital liver deformities that triggered heart failure, and complications from stent procedures. | Meimei was bought as a birthday present for a 6-year old girl, however, perhaps out of rough handling, she bit the birthday girl, and was tagged vicious and "free to good homes." My frantic search for basic guinea pig care turned up Cavycages, a valuable site that teaches proper housing for guinea pigs. and Guinealynx, an insightful medical and health forum for cavies. | We soon learned from Cavycages.com that the best gift we can offer Meimei is a piggy friend, and we soon found Cavyspirit, a wonderful private guinea pig rescue located in San Mateo. | Leah wrote and told me that a handsome piggy in a broken carrier was picked up on the side of a highway, and turned into a local rabbit shelter by a kind woman. My parents were going through the loss of their second elder dog at that same time, and I thought a handsome little guy might be the best remedy for their grief and loss.
