There comes a time in everyone’s life when we must lose someone we love very much.

Sometimes it happens more than once.

And when we lose those people that we love it feels as though they are gone,

they are dead.

But the truth is they are not dead as the body may die and the person may die,

but the soul lives on.

And if we choose to the soul can live on in our hearts and we may not feel so alone.

And if we choose to we can forget the soul and let the soul die in our hearts,

they will be but a distant memory.

And so, even though I have lost a few people that I have loved in life, in body,

I now keep them with me in soul.

If we keep the soul within our hearts,

the pain doesn’t feel so bad and the memories do not fade.

They tell a vivid story and they help us get over the loss of the body.

So this I say to all, do not forget the soul, the heart,

the love and the memory of the ones you love and have lost in body.

And embrace the ones you do love and still keep in life and the pain will fade.

I felt compelled to write this passage during the time when my grandfather was in the hospital and after he had passed on.

My family saddened by their lost was reminded by me that he would live on in us if we remember his soul and his legacy.

In memory of George and Norma Clyde
