Thank You: Special Thanks to all those at AMOC discussion who let me post there comments up here (I really don't have their words for it, but I guess they won't mind). If I posted your comments up here and you don't want it up here, please email me. Your rights are fully respected. It is only because I won't have time to do a full plot review, I have to borrow yours (you know, I'm a junior and a new semester just started, so kind of busy lately). ~ Special thanks to: TL, Kristy, Someone, Mindy, and Lam yi, in addition to everyone at AMOC Forum. The Ending By TL It's TL again. Didn't i tell you i'll be back? and here i am hehehe. It's hard to resist not saying anything about a series that i like and that the same time dislike as well. ok, after almost 2 months, amoc finally comes to an end. i've been waiting for the ending for so long that i can't even remember how long. ok everything here is only my personal opinion about AMOC, it's all based on my point of view, if there are any offensive things, i apologize for that. HOLY CRAP! Would be my first comment to say about tape 21-24 (i'm watching the viet version, so don't know what episode that is in chinese). Gosh sitting through 4 long hours, i started off being very pissed to crying and pitying the relationship between kong and moon. Those are 4 very unhappy hours for me. There are many factors that led to the emotional impact on me and here are a few of them: 1. i don't get the point of kong going undercover. I know guilt was his motivation to take that path. First for killing yau's father then queenie. But it's not his fault. He didn't have the intention nor the motive to do so. he's a cop, he should know that accidents do happen and it's not in his ability to stop it from happening. Sometimes i can't help but think how stupid his character is. Everyone have their personal problems to deal with, but facing it is more manly than choosing an easy way out and hurting those around you. 2. then there's jacky, that girl is not only stupid but wacko too. if i had a father who didn't care about me or was ashamed of me, i wouldn't risk my life so he can earn the profits. That's just plain dumb. And he even tried to kill her, but she was still loyal to him. no matter what she does, she's not going to praise her and when she even dies, it's not like he'll come and get her corpse and bury it. sheesh. And her face was so pale, it got scary at one point. I thought i was watching a vampire and not a triad leader. 3. Ho, that guy just annoys the heck out of me. His sister shouldn't have traded her life to save his ass. It's was pointless. And did u notice how many times san didn't nail this guy down? and what did he get in return from ho? Nothing except getting himself into a big mess. And if it weren't for him kwai wouldn't die. She shouldn't have been so nice or should i say mind her own business in things that didn't concern her. i was pissed off when she died. It was so not worth it. and the way they injected some type of substance in her injury was just horrible (my mom tells me, these things don't get eliminated from ur body and stays there forever. NASTY!)
4. And there's the Madam Lui. The righteous madam on the custom team. I can't deny she is a good madam to her team, but when it comes to the issue of love, she sucks like hell. I can't believe she didn't want to have her baby because of the san. Regardless of what the father did, the child is innocent. She had no rights to decide the baby's fate. If she didn't find out san was a good guy, i bet she would have an abortion. Gosh, i'll hate to grow up and realize my own mother didn't want me at one point.
5. Finally there's queenie. What was the point of bringing out a queenie lookalike? Someone tell me plz cuz the series didn't say nothing. Having this lookalike appear, i'm assuming there will be a sequel to this series, otherwise, it was a waste of filming that scene.
6. Motorcycle race. Damn look at the injury on moon's arm, that must have really hurt. But i think it hurt her more seeing Kong care about jacky and not her. Kong showed himself to be heartless, but when u look at his expression, he showed alot of concern for moon and when moon fell, she was the first person he looked at. He didn't look away for a few seconds. (these are the only thing i notice, hehehe) 7. The slap. Wah did u hear the sound of that slap? Ouch, the stinginess after a slap is really bad. i would be crushed if the man i loved slap me like that. And don't forget the metal pole. Seriously, i can feel moon's pain at that moment. Gosh where did kong find the heart to do something like that. Pain, pain, pain. I wonder which one hurt more? The slap or the metal pole? I'll say both, cuz they both shattered moon's heart. 8. The disgusting kiss. Aiya, i've never seen a kissing scene that bad before. gosh it was disgusting. And the picture of Kong kissing Jacky makes me wanta puke. (i'm feeling nauseous now). And the worst thing was that, moon walked all the way from her house to his apartment on her crippled leg to get a glance of kong, but what does she see, kong and jacky making out. That's too sad. Poor moon.
9. After everything moon has done for kong, he's still has cold as before. he rejected her goggles, rejected their chance of a new beginning. Man, a girl can only take in so much pain, but kong did it everytime moon tried to express her love for me. And when moon asked "Do you like me?" Kong didn't hesitate and said, "No." i was hoping he would take some time to reconsider, but his word was so blunt and painful. 10. Counting all the heartless things kong had done to moon, i'll say the wedding proposal is the WORST. He asked moon to give up her most precious moment to capture jacky. Was it really necessary? Was jacky worth ruining moon's happiness? I DON'T THINK SO. it was so mean of kong to even think about it. he said there was no other way to go about this, but from the top of my head, i can find better ways than that. (then again, there would be no series and i wouldn't be writing this right?) 11. the ending. An ending that have gotten so much complaint, even my mom was like "that can't be the ending. Nothing was answered." I totally agree with her, it was a major cliffhanger, leaving everyone with so many questions. is kong really dead? What will happen to moon? What about queenie? So many unanswered questions. if TVB doesn't make a sequel, that will be so retarted. AGREE? 12. Finally, the love between kong and moon. Their whole love story is a major tragedy. Moon suffered so much to love and kong tried so hard to deny his love and that the end they didn't even get to be together. Is that a tragedy or what? Both loved each other, overcame many obstacles, but could never be together. Extremely SAD. Alright that's all i have to say, (isn't that enuf? Hehehe) yeah it is a bit too much, but i have to let it out somehow or else, i'll just explode. I went through all the boring scenes with ming and san to see moon and kong together, but that never happened. That just SUCK!!!!! TL (buh-bye) PS or wait one more thing, something that have been bothering me alot (everything bothers me though, hehehe). Did kit know about Kong's undercover thing? Cuz from his expression and the way he didn't care much about kong's matter, showed that he knew something. Is this true or just me imagining things? One last question, WHO IS THE PERSON KONG LOVED THE MOST? MOON OR YAU? Everyone said it was moon and kong loves yau out of pity, but from the way kong treated yau before her death, i can't tell who he loves more. DONE ..... AND MY UPSET THOUGHT .... BY Kristy GOsh.... i am mad..... i feel so sorrie .. for moon... she been rejected and beat up... i know that kong don't want to be with her cause of GUILT and jacky... i was just sooo mad at the end... even if i know what happen... first, i thought i was going to cry at the end, but instend i throw the remote ... sorrie but i was upset. what almost mad me cry is when kong dad die... HOW SAD....! well, I know for sure that kong 100 percent love MOON... everyone ask who does kong like? well for sure moon cause when he pick up the helmet and flash back he had with her... and of course at the end how he save her... for sure in his mind he love only moon.. did you see the way he cry and hug the helmet when he went to find it at the trash can??? GOSH!!!
the only reason he didn't get with moon cause he love her too much and he didn't want her to get hurt. that's why he felt mad at himself for hitting and slaping moon... oh one more thing..... Queeie is NOT DEAD.... they saw her... and i think she is working undercover,,, agree??? cause, when the madam when to ask the higher officer, he sort of gave hint .... SO THEY BETTER DO A AMOC 2 cause the ending is really killing me.. Hey Guys!!! By Someone .Hey guys!! I'm new here and I must admit all the messages here are pretty interesting. Well anyway, I'm at tape 21 right now and I'm just curious about some minor details. Alright, here goes: (1) Does Jade love her husband and vice versa in the end? ( I think they make a cute couple and I love it whenever they come onto the screen becuz their relationship is so interesting ^_^)
(2) I read the other pages and I noticed something that you guys were writing about Queenie. Some of you said that Queenie didn't die and was doing undercover work with Ah Hei right? Well, if she was also undercover, how come Hei didn't know about it? The reason I'm asking this question is becuz I remember that somebody else said that Hei chose to work undercover becuz of guilt for Queenie's death. Well, anyway, I don't get why Hei has to go work as an undercover if he knew that Queenie didn't die. And that part when he was talking to Jess, at the water place, at night time, he told her that whatever he's doing in the future, he doesn't need anyone, he just needs himself. So why he do undercover work and why did he have to tell Jess this instead of telling her the truth that he's working as an undercover. Anyway, sorrie for the long message. Promise I won't do that again next time. ^_^ My VERY LONG analyze and thoughts on AMOC.... By Mindy I've just finished watching this series and I would like to express my feelings as well as thoughts. First of all, I have to apologize to all Jessica's fans for saying bad things about her two years ago. After this series, as well as DIF IV, I have to say she deserves all the recognitions that she'd receive. Her choice of roles had improved greatly, and I now can identify with the characters that she protrays. And I guess all my good feelings for her helped me see her as a very attractive woman on and off screen. Alright, on with the show. AMOC could have been top notched if they agree on whether it should be a drama, action, romance, or comedy. But since they didn't and instead threw in all the genres into one, I'm slightly disappointed. The first few episodes showed that AMOC is a action/comedy-ish. It had cases and light-hearted humor to make the viewers feel romantically good. Then as it progressed, it changed it mood and have became dark and depressing, and the cases had became dramatic sequences for Liza and Danny, who, btw, is one of the main reason I feel is miscased and overhyped. Liza's "Madam" character is suppose to be strong, independent, a 21th centry woman. Instead, maybe it was Liza's acting or the script, but 'Madam' became the annoying factor for me. They tried to make her perfect without a fault, and I find that very unrealisic and unattractive. She seems to be the person who everybody goes to for problems, who always have answers to everything, who shouldn't been a Dear Abby colume writer rather than a cop.
Ok, I'm saving the best for last, and the best thing in AMOC is Wong Hei. He continues to amaze me with his talent. If I have to pick an actor right now that truly deserves more recognitions than he's getting, it's Wong Hei. Just about 4 years into the business, he never cease to surprise me the variety of my acting skills. Because of him, I'd cried more than once toward the end of the series, especially the part when he was digging in the trash for Moon's helmet. His pain...god, I totally felt like my heart ripped in two. Last, but not least, the ending. The ending was begging for a sequel, though due to it's fairly low ratings, I don't see that coming. It has so many loose knots that I have to spend a hour going online and in forums to get answers. Even after the answers, I felt empty and dry. I did not expect the ending to end like that. That's another example of action/comedy turned pure drama in AMOC. Wong Hei, in the beginning, deserved to be happy...with Moon. But as the series continues, it seems like the writers wants us to think he shouldn't be happy. I think that's all bull. I don't want to repeat what's already been said, so I want to leave on the note that if it hadn't been for Wong Hei and Jessica, I would rate it 4/10 due to lack of flow of storyline, character development, character flow, consistence. But since there's Jessica and Wong Hei, it give it 5/10. Not a big improvement, but for me, a picky and analysical viewer, that's saying a lot. IT my turn to give my comment on AMOC now. By Lam Yi at first i dind't really excited about watching this renting this serie as i heard so many bad comment on how it really boring and stuff, but i went ahead and rent it anyway as i am a jess and hei fan of course... At first when i watch the serie i thought it was ok as i think jess and hei look really cute together and have so much chemistry as i never thought they would make a cute couple in the first place. But when it get later on i was really dissapointed with the serie as they concentrated too much on Lisa and Danny and Lisa parent. Lisa parent story is so fake that everytime they show them together it just gave me goosebump all over. Though the part where lisa dad and mom die was kinda sad, but i was kinda happy as they start to concentrated on jess and hei story and then shirley show up.
Overall, out of the whole serie i enjoy watch jess and hei the most and the story between mak and jade. I was hoping that they would concentrated on mak and jade story instead of lisa and danny. i think the last four tape of this serie is the most exciting as i can't stop watching until it end. Though the ending is quite sad but i think it appropriate. If hei didn't die he would have to live the rest of his life with the guilt for everyone that he had killed. The best acting in here of course is hei, he's just too good especially when he went undercover. For a moment i really thought that he was really bad, but the part where jess got hurt when racing and you see the look in his eyes that he really care for jess. the saddest part in the serie is when shirly die and when hei dad die. I cry when hei dad died, it like you see him from the beginning of the serie till end and he just die like that...or because i didn't expect him to died. so sad.
The worse actor in here are danny...man he just really bad. I hate his grin and that chilling smile that he always have on his face. But i thought he was little better at the end. But still bad.
The guy that played lisa father is such a bad old actor, and how come he in so many series nowaday huh?
oops i write too much..c ya
Once again, Thank you all of you guys. I am already tire with the copy-and-paste. Man, I wish I can write like you. I need to pass my American Lit class. |
