A Cowgirl Doesn't Cry
When I was just a kid
The age 6 or so
I sat bout 15 hands high
A little nudge, and there we go
I saw the whole world
I was riding a shooting star
Me and my horse were one,
but we didn't get very far
I lost reigns and he lost footing
my star fell from the sky
Dad picked me up,
  dusted me and said
A Cowgirl Doesn't cry

Later on in years
The age 16 or so
My life revolved around one guy
It wasn't long, and what would you know
I saw the whole world
My future wasn't far
In an instant it was over
as I watched him drive away his car
I lost heart and hope
It felt as if I'd die
Mom sat with me
to comfort and said
A Cowgirl Doesn't cry
Then just a few years later
The age 20 or so
He stood bout 6 foot high
What was ahead we didnt know
He was the Cowboy I was looking for
We made plans of life together
A baby coming and our happiness  was more
I lost what I thought was my true love
He walked away didn't say goodbye
I held me head low,
mom & dad watched and said
A Cowgirl doesn't cry

Now she is just a kid
The age 8 months or so
And the one who stood so high
She'll never get to know
I saw the whole world
The day that she was born
Changed all plans for our future
My lifes no longer torn
I lost me heart to that little girl
As both our tears I dry
We will live by the words,
   my parents taught
A Cowgirl doesn't cry
