Fail-Soft Thin Chat System  (mini-project in MCA)  :

An instant messaging system to provide people with a cheap, platform independent means for direct online communication within a small Local Area Network. This software is an attempt to add a new architecture for building client-server application. The software does not require a dedicated server nor does it need a database. The existence of the server is hidden from the user and is handled automatically by the client programs in one of the client machine. In case of a server failure its task is taken up by some other client in the system. In this way the fail-soft nature of the system is achieved. The system is also thin as it requires very less resource for its operation; it doesnt even need a database at its backend. Data are stored in client computers in the form persistent objects.
