MANS IRL - 6/17/2001

Spent Father's Day 2001 with the family, and at the home,
of one Bill Berg.

Thank you for a wonderful day, Bill and Christy!

Aunt and nieceBill Berg's lovely daughter, Tracey, posing with sister-in-law extraordinaire, Stevie! Once again, my photographic skills have this pic coming in at the wrong exposure. (sigh)

Me and BergPic's a bit overexposed as the auto-focus camera tried to compensate for my day-glo skull!

The ride to Maryland from Carlisle, PA, was an enjoyable experience. This was my very first trip outside of Pennsylvania on the Nighthawk. Despite stopping for additional directions once, Mabel and I made it to Bill's home at the appointed time.

We spent a great day together. I got to check out Bill's two excellent scoots, meet his wonderful family, drink some beer and tell some lies. Was also introduced to Punkin Chunkin Berg-style. I had read about this event courtesy of r.m.h (Thank you, Harley Woman!), but by journeying to Casa de Berg I was able to learn about the event from the source.

If you've never taken the chance to participate in an in real life (IRL) event or get together, please do so. Lurking or joining in on the lists can be a lot of fun, but actually riding up to someone's home (although, maybe, a little uncomfortable for the shy) adds a totally new perspective and level of enjoyment to your life. Thanks again, Bill!
