7A and 7B - The seventh grade classes have been practicing their drum skills. We've been learning the difference between tone and bass and how to play that on the drum. They are learning how to play 4 and 5 different rhythms at the same time. This takes a great deal of focus on everyone's part. We are also learning how to accompany the drums with many different unpitched percussion instruments.
8A and 8B - The eighth grade classes are currently working on their blues songs. We have already written our lyrics and our melody. Now we are learning how to add the 12 bar blues so that we can accompany ourselves. Each group will add appropriate unpitched instruments to their song. At the end of the project each group will sing and play their piece for the class.
