File Sharing and Spyware!
Limeshop, this is spyware or adware. It comes in bundled with Limewire, a file sharing program with the user blissfully unaware what they are really downloading.
This is very difficult to delete. When Limewire(a file sharing program) Is downloaded an installed, it also gives you Limeshop. This program starts when you boot up your computer, and stays running in the background, and as such slows down your computer.
Limeshop is part of an online 'shopping mall' and provides links to businesses. It creates more commercial ads, in Limewire and on the net.
Many websites and Spyware removal programs suggest deleting it fro Add/Remove Programs. This does not seem to work. Many people find that Limeshop is still on their computer.
Another solution to try is to go into your main hard drive. Access 'Program Files' Find the Limewire and Limeshop folders and delete them. Entirely. Leave no traces of Limewire or Limeshop left on your computer. That is what we did, but er can never be sure if it has been completely deleted. That's why it is so terrible, its very difficul to trace.
A better solution is prevention. DO NOT download Limewire in the first place. That will avoid all these problems. Unfortunately, we had not been educated in the 'thrills' of spyware!
