Lop is a hijacker that pretends to be a music search engine. It takes over your start page search features to use the site lop.com (Live online portal) or one of its many clone sites. The names of these sites are random four letter combinations such as www.thko.com. If the Internet Explorer security settings are low, TeenSex dialer is installed without asking the user. It offers popups and places shortcuts on your desktop and bookmarks in your favourites folder. Running the software may cause dial up connection requests to appear if you are not connected. Windows seems to hang temporarily when this happens.
This toolbar is very difficult to delete and casuses many problems including:
- Frequent Internet and Windows Explorer Crashes
- Downloads software without your consent
- Increases the amount of popup adds you get
- Adds lop links to your favourites
- Tracking your site visits and reporting them back to lop
- Hijacking your startpage
- Changes homepage to a four letter address such as www.thko.com
- Changes its name, making it harder to trace. Sometimes to a jumble of letters or the name of another toolbar.
