(fwd) I am sorry. There was something wrong with the system the whole of the 7th. On the 8th I had to go home. I have just come back and I have not even gone to the hostel room. People are staring at me for bringing in this huge bag of mine from home. To start then , the last day was the icing on the cake. The whole event culminated with the fashion show. Before that there was an informal dance and MPC TOOK PART IN IT! THE PRINCIPAL DANCED WITH THE STUDENTS! That then was truly remarkable. Nothing else of interest took place. Now let me come to the fashion show. Did you know that the max capacity of the OAT is 1600? Did you know that for the fashion show around 3500 people were there? Did you know that everybody from the Principal to the last person came and watched? Did you know that DD came and covered it? Did you know that the whole event lasted for around 5 hrs? Well friends, the only thing I can say is that you missed it and I had the best time of my life. They had made a ramp extending from the stage. I was given a seat in the VIP enclosure along with the Principal and the judges (because I was the only alumnus) and I simply lapped up every moment. The brief scores St.Theresa's got 1st , Providence got 2nd And REC got 3rd. The girls were gorgeous especially people like Pallavi and there were some pretty Macho looking guys also. Lots of concepts and stuff. Future, past, red corals, waves, shades, pastels etc . These in case you don't know are the names of the various themes. I didn't understand a bit of anything but enjoyed everything. Well the event got over at around 1'0' clock in the night and the entire crowd was well behaved. That then was Ragam . The overall winners obviously was REC Calicut with a whopping 459 points. Second was St. Theresas with 119 points. To say that the event was a success would be an understatement. The Principal has written a poem in praise of the students and it is pasted in the hostel notice boards. The poem is nothing great but the gesture was greatly appreciated. All REC students including the 1st years have started to like this place. They do not want to go home the way we always wanted to. All the people from other colleges appreciated the wonderful hospitality of REC calicut. There is a new found sense of spirit and camaraderie here. People have a certain bounce in their steps. There still is the dreamy look in people's eyes and the sweet smell of success hangs heavily all over the place. REC my dear friends, is not anymore the place where we studied and lived for 4 years. It has changed .... changed a lot.........
