The Wizard of Earthsea:
The first book in the Earthsea Trilogy
Summary:
In print for more than three decades and translated into dozens of languages, here is the first book in The Earthsea Trilogy. This is a tale of wizards, dragons, and shadows, played in an archipelago of imagined islands. The young boy Sparrowhawk becomes apprentice to a Master Wizard; but impatience to learn faster takes him far from home to Roke Island, where he enters the School for Wizards. As a student of magic, Sparrowhawk exceeds his years in accomplishment, but pride and jealousy drive the boy to try certain dangerous powers too soon. A terrible evil is let loose in the land
Review
A truly magical story about a young boy trying to find his true self.  This book is a mix between The Adventures of Merlin and Harry Potter.  It is a classic fantasy story and a must read for anyone who loves fairytales and fantasy.  Ged is a relatable character and the book has a wonderful plot.  However. the other books in the series are must more griping.  This book provides sort of an introduction into the other books.  This isn't my favorite book in the series but it is still a good read.

The other books in the trilogy:

The Tombs of Atuan: The story of How Ged and a young preistess named Tenar escape the darkness

The Farthest Shore: Ged enbarkes on another sailing journing with a fellow wizard to save his world from the evil that haunts it.

Tehanu: What happened to Ged and Tenar and how they must once again reunite to save a powerful child.
