Fairytale Fashions
Exactly what did they wear back then?
A Princess-
A princess is the wealthiest of the fairytale character's and therefor has the most expensive look. she can be commonly seen in:

*A long silk(or other rich material) brocade reniassance style dress in any color she chose.
         *heavy satin slippers
         *Many jewels and pendants
*her crown on special occassions, or on regular days a band of gold encirlcling her head
*a princess would be the only one that would probably wear make-up. maybe a stain on her lips or some sort of a light powder(after all it was fashionable for royalty to be white because they weren't out in the sun like the workers)
These garments would be fit for a day of playing with a golden ball or playing the harp.

So you want to be a princess?
Try wearing a silk or velvet dress/skirt with a shirt with bell sleeves. Anything that is long/flowy works. Trying wearing you hair in an elegant braid, then slip on your favorite jeweled necklace and add rosy lips with simple makeup.
A Shepardess/farmer-
A shepardess is probably viewed as the middle class citizen and would have average clothes. She would spend her day doing chores or keeping the flock from a hungry wolf. she would be commonly seen in:

*frilly petticoats(if she was a shepardess! A plain farmer wouldn't have frills)
       *a long wool skirt
       *a white peasant shirt
       *a sunbonnet(to keep her complexion)
       *stockings and lace-up boots
       *an apron
*her hair would be braided to keep it out of the way
*top it of with a crook and a shepardess is ready for a day of daydreaming..i mean watching sheep

So you want to be a shepardess?
Try wearing long and flowing skirts with a cute peasant rop. Put on a wool cardigan or henely sweater in you favorite color. Top it off with boots and your hair in braids.
A Forest Girl
The forest girl is almost a little savage, spending her day playing and helping out with chores. She spends most of her rock climbing days wearing:

*for easy and comfortable movement she might wear a tunic and leggings.
*if she wanted to be more girly she might wear a simple long skirt and white peasant shirt
*definetly go barefoot to feel the cool grass under her feet.
*will carry some sort of a messanger bag to store bread and any treasures she might find in the forest.
*her hair would probably be wild and unkempt.

So you want to be a forest girl?
Try wearing a middle length flowy cotton sundress or if it's colder try anything rugged and outdoorsy(like plaid shirts and hiking boots) Grab a plain messanger bag and mess up your hair and you are ready for an adventure
Fairies-
Fairies don't have anything to worry about, they just play all day long. If you are lucky enough to find a fairy they might be wearing:

*some sort of a short rufflely dress made of flower petals
       *wings(of course)
*their hair would be done up in a complicated updo(to keep it from getting in the flowers)
*they might be really glittery any shiny since they are magic!

So you want to be a fairy?
Try wearing a short sundress or a short sleeve t-shirt(cut up and glittery). Give your self a fancy do and go crazy with the glitter!
