April 3: #1 Superfriends 66, #2 Do Work 50 ---- Game Highlights ---- The Superfriends have won the A league basketball championship. An early second half run, some nice outside shooting and the stellar 2-3 zone lead to a championship win, the 2nd championship in basketball and the 5th championship that the boys have won! Including flag football, the Superfriends have know won 22 of their last 24 games.
March 27: #1 Superfriends 57, #4 Da Bulls 37 ---- Game Highlights ---- Great defense, and solid offense lead to the victory. Da Bulls should of learned that the Superfriends have too many weapons to play a box-in-one, especially when Rick and Bob are playing well inside and Beau and Nate are draining 3's. Finally the 2-3 zone defense looked good, especially with the help side defense. Looking back historically on the games defensive effort, you have to go all the way back to February 3rd, 2005, in which the Superfriends beat Back4More in the season opener 33-26. This make it the second best defensive effort ever by the Superfriends, and it was against a playoff team! Championship next week!
March 20: Superfriends 71, Whatever 45 ---- Game Highlights ---- After being down 11-0, KC and JB came in and the fast breaking started. After being down 16-5 the Superfriends outscored Whatever 66-29 in what turned out to be a blowout. The Superfriends finished the season 9-1, ending in first place 3 games ahead of the second place team.
March 13: Superfriends 67, Don't Know 63 ---- Game Highlights ---- JB saved the day, with the help of everyone else but a useless KC. This win clinches first place and gives the Superfriends a 3-game lead just 9 games into the season, how does that happen?
March 6: Superfriends 74, Off in the Woods 69 ---- Game Highlights ---- The west-coast style again prevailed in the top Arlington Heights league, proving you can beat a basketball team with a non-basketball team just by being in better shape. Again, JB stepped up and provided some solid play all-around. Without Bob the Superfriends still managed to control the boards quite a bit. With the win the Superfriends now clinch at least a tie for first place during the regular season.
February 28: Superfriends 67, Do Work 54 ---- Game Highlights ---- Only 4 regulars for the game with KC, Bradick, Rick and Bob, but those 4 all played great games. JB Hanson, Adam Whitt, and the suprisingly in-shape Ray Berry all stepped up and played great games to give Superfriends a two-game lead on the rest of the league. Hopefully the boys can have some more regulars to finish the season off unlike last year.
February 14: Red Team 62, Superfriends 59 ---- Game Highlights ---- Just like last year, the Superfriends started 5-0 only to lose their sixth game. Nothing much to say about this game except that it was inevitable that it was going to happen.
February 7: Superfriends 67, Da' Bulls 62 (overtime) ---- Game Highlights ---- Huge win with only 6 guys. JB Hanson, a Superfriend for a day had a huge day with rebounding and scoring. Bradick, JB and KC ran the break to perfection in the first half....before getting really tired. Beau and Ricky controlled the boards, and Shep again had a great shooting day. A game the Superfriends would of lost last year with 6 guys they pulled off the win this year. This kept the Superfriends in first place with a 5-0 record and 3-0 in overtime so far.
January 24: Superfriends 65, Whatever 54 ---- Game Highlights ---- The Superfriends overcame terrible officiating to win this game. Whatever did not respond well to the up-tempo, west-coast style of play brought by the Superfriends.
January 17: Superfriends 65, Don't Know 62 (overtime) ---- Game Highlights ---- Another overtime win, which Rob Ridenour hit a huge shot in regulation to send it to OT. In overtime Bob hit his first three-pointer of the season to give the Superfriends an early OT lead. Milestones: This was the Superfriends 30th total basketball victory, putting them at 30-20 for a .600 winning percentage all-time. The Superfriends also have a half game lead with a 3-0 record.
January 10: Superfriends 65, Off in the Woods 58 (overtime) ---- Game Highlights ---- The Superfriends stuck to being a second half team as they had to come back again in a game.
January 3: Superfriends 53, Red Team 42 ---- Game Highlights ---- Down 29-18 at halftime, the Super-Duper Friends outscored The Red Team 35-13 in the second half for a 53-42 win. Beau had 4 three-pointers for 12 points, and Shep added another 8.
