November 19, 2006 :

We are pleased to announce the completion of radiation! With surgery, chemo and radiation under our belts, we are on to hormone treatment (another systemic therapy). This phase will be the longest form of treatment, but hopefully the easiest (crossing fingers). Kathleen started Tamoxifen last week which shows greater survival improvement. It is likely that hormone treatment will be used in some form for the rest of Kathleen's life (long-life God-willing!)

It is with grateful hearts that we extend warm wishes to all of you. We have received such love and support over the last six months. It has been a difficult journey, and we know so many families endure a great deal of suffering through illness (among other afflictions). It is through suffering that God has continued to reveal Himself in our lives and lift our spirits. We are witness to His love through your actions. So much has been given to us - prayers, warm thoughts, cards, email notes, meals, surprises in the mail, food, gifts, babysitting, house-cleaning, books, well-wishes, visits - you name it. Thank you for helping us during our struggles.

We continue to pray for healing and a complete cure from cancer for Kathleen. We pray each treatment will contribute to a quality, long-life. We pray that there will not be life-threatening side effects from the cancer treatments themselves, and we pray that we can live joyfully amid the angst of reoccurrence.

"My mouth is filled with your praise and with your glory all day long. . . I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more." Psalm 71:8,14
