It's been a happy two and a half weeks since our last update. Here are some of the highlights!
Kathleen responded well to the first chemotherapy treatment. 7-9 days after her treatment, food started to taste better and fatigue subsided. She still needs to rest each day and take a short nap, but other than that, her quality of life is good. An answer to our prayers!
Since our last update, Kathleen also resumed driving. She is back behind the wheel and feels like more freedom has been given back to her. She is also getting back into her walking/exercise routine.
On Saturday (June 3rd), Kathleen picked up and held Sammy for the first time since her surgery! He was thrilled. The next day, she held Sammy's big sister Sydney. From the kid's point of view, Mom is back! Dad was happy to see that too! There's a lot to be happy about these days!!
On Thursday (June 8th), Kathleen will undergo her second chemotherapy treatment. We are not sure what to expect, but hope and pray that the side effects are no worse than they were the first time around. After Thursday, Kathleen will have four more chemotherapy treatments followed by seven weeks of radiation.
As always, we thank you for all of the cards, letters and beautiful notes posted to this website. If Kathleen didn't know how special she was before her diagnosis, she definitely knows it now! Thank you and God bless you all!
Prayer Request:
We are incredibly grateful and thank God for allowing Kathleen to do as well as she has, since her surgery in April. We know that He is listening and answering all of our prayers. We do ask you to continue to pray for Kathleen. Please continue to pray that all cancer will be removed from her body, permanently. Also, please ask God to allow Kathleen to be cancer-free for the rest of her life. One of Kathleen's main goals is to be here to personally meet her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Please ask God to hear and answer these prayers and to keep her cancer free. Thank you!
