Five treatments down and one to go! There is definitely light at the end of the chemotherapy treatment tunnel for Kathleen. On Thursday, August 10th, Kathleen underwent her second-to-last chemotherapy treatment. The side-effects were similar to past treatments. She was very tired and felt a little nauseated during the days following treatment. We certainly do not want to wish time away, but we'll be very happy when August 31st is behind us. On that day, chemotherapy will be completed and we'll move on to the next stage in the treatment plan.

Since the last update, we've experienced highs and lows. Thomas traveled to Boca Raton, Florida at the end of July for the McGraw-Hill National Sales Meeting. Kathleen made the trip with her travel buddy, Julie Lange, and joined their husbands at the meeting. Kathleen spent several days on the beach relaxing and enjoying some quiet time. She was also able to attend Thomas' closing remarks speech at the end of the sales meeting. The resort was fantastic and it was nice to be a couple for a few days.

Some sad news�.we arrived home to find that our kitty, Boots, was very ill. Boots had been suffering from an intestinal disorder and died shortly after we returned home. The Timp family had a tough few days after Boots passed away, but we are getting by. Boots was an incredible companion to all of us during the most difficult time in our lives. She will be missed but not forgotten.

On August 26th, we have an appointment scheduled with a radiation oncologist, Dr. Baer. When Kathleen has completed chemotherapy, she will undergo 7 weeks of radiation.

Thanks to all of you for your support. We couldn't get through this without your prayers, thoughtfulness and help. We appreciate meals, gift certificates, babysitting, donations, surprises in the mail and all your kindnesses. We feel truly blessed.

We ask you to continue to pray that Kathleen will be healed and permanently cured from cancer. We ask you to pray for strength and stamina so Kathleen can get through this next treatment. We pray that side effects will be minimal and Kathleen will get back to feeling 100% very soon.
