Before this year gets to far underway, I want to share with you a project that we under took just before Christmas Day in honor of Kimberly. One of Kim's dreams is to continue supporting the Kids at Children's Hospital LA. The forth floor as most of you know is all about Cancer of some type. There is 40 to 50 kids on that floor at any given time. ( We feel like it was home to us, many times. Many people made us feel better when we were stuck in there)
With that in mind a group of us got together and did a toy drive for the kids. The biggest surprise was that I spoke to a friend of mine at that belongs to the Optimists Club of Agoura and he hooked us up with the COOLEST toys for Boys and girls. Potters wheels, robots, remote controlled cars, etc...
We want to give a big "Thank You" to Bill with Optimists of Agoura and the Fire Dept. for the huge toy donation. Also "Thank you " To Roberta, Kathleen, Dee Dee, for also gathering toys and supplies.
We sang Christmas carrols and handed out gifts. We got a lot of smiles from the kids. WE HAD FUN! We look forward to doing this every year. (Maybe even X-mas in July) If you would like to help us next year gather toys, let me know.
How are we doing you wonder? We are hanging in there of course missing Kim everyday! It helps to know that we will all be together again someday. I have been attending a special bible study on "Heaven" these days. When you really think about it, Kim is having a blast right now.
